This weeks Autoexpress did a test with the 108 and the Skoda Citigo and the Skoda Citigo came top and it can be had for £75 pm.

It was also Autoexpress's car of the year 2012.

People are caught up in an egotistic artificial rat race to display a false image to society. We want the biggest house, fanciest car, and we don't mind paying the sky high mortgage to put up that show. We sacrifice our biggest assets our health and time, We feel happy when we see people look up to us and see how successful we are”

  • Being so close to the end of my deal with Peugeot, I feel compelled to reply.

I would avoid this scheme now that I've had some experience of it.

For a start; at the end of the deal, it suddenly turns into 'just add fuel, and some tax, and we need 2 months MOT on the car when you hand it back' and that's before they sting you when an independent inspector (wants to make money off your back) looks at the car and tells you what needs doing to make the car look new again. Oh and don't think you can fix it yourself, you can't because the car's gone back to Peugeot and you can't get a list of prices beforehand.

If I sound bitter, I am. Mine has failed it's MOT (by Peugeot) twice now. They quoted me £330 to replace the front wiper (which worked before I dropper the car off that morning) and the front brake pads. I managed to get the parts and for them for £28. Also, the wheels hadn't been removed from the car to inspect the pads and disks. They are full of it.

I've accepted I'm going to have to buy the car in order to avoid being stung on further (conspicuous) repair bills on a car I'm handing back.

What gets me is this; you go over the mileage and they charge you the difference from the future value quote because the car's worth less.....but if you want to buy the car you pay the future value cost even though by their own admittance, it's worth less, AND you've paid for the final tax, MOT etc.

Walk away or buy the car, you're gonna get slightly spanked. The longer you stay in the deal the more you get trapped.

Just think very carefully before hand.

I would never get a car on any type of leasing scheme.

A couple of people I work with did this and when the lease was up the vehicle inspection was incredibly stringent - cost them both hundreds of pounds in bodywork repairs because of things that if it was your own car are normally expected as usual wear and tear and parking etc.

Horrendous - I couldn't stand the stress of having a leased vehicle and being too scared to park it next to another car:eek:
Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time
