No signal on Galaxy 5 who is responsible?

Question on behalf of a friend? He has a Galaxy S5 bought on line. It will not pick up a signal. He is with Three for his network service and they have referred him to Samsung - he sent them the phone and they sent it back saying they can find nothing wrong with it - and referred him back to Three.

Got me wondering, what happens if I buy an S5 phone online, from say phones4U, register it with Three. And then it does not pick up a signal. Who do I go back to?

If the fault is in the phone it would be phones4U to replace or repair it.
If it was just a case of no signal in certain area's then you would have to contact Three to see if there is a fault with a mast etc etc
It's not just about the money

The problem lies with whoever sold you the phone, if it is the phone that is experiencing technical difficulties.

Is there anyone else that your friend knows who is with Three and has a phone that they can put their SIM into to see if the SIM is not at fault?

Thanks will suggest that. Problem is of course is that no one is owning up to where the fault is - whether it is phone or signal - and he does not know.

If it's a contract, then first you check the signal with a free PAYG sim and read the returns policy of the retailer. Then you buy the phone and the contract if both the signal and the policy satisfy you.

Where did your friend buy the phone from? As in what retailer?

Does the Three simcard work in other phones? Do other sim cards work in the s5?

If it's a retailer like P4U, you could take the phone and sim into one of their stores and ask them to make it work.
