Curious as to what the police have on the V5C. Do they actually have them?

When i bought mine the seller said it was a police vehicle. But i had my doubts.

A towbar had been fitted and removed. Maybe the seller removed it?

It was an ex-lease car coming up to 5 years old.

There were extra power leads fitted around the car though.

    Hi, thanks for your reply.

Its 5 years old car with 70k miles on clock, diesel with auto transmission.

I am going to check its documents tomorrow. Will see who is the first registered owner.

If its used by investigators, is it worth to buy or not?

    Thanks
Be very careful it hasn't been clocked. It could actually be an ex minicab. If it is an ex CID car or something like that then it'll probably be ok - won't be shot to pieces. :p The mileage just makes me suspicious. I don't know why anyone would buy such a car then put such low miles on it, particularly if it was owned by some kind of organisation.

Don't know if anyone has given you this Link:

But I would not buy an ex-Police car, too many negatives here and you will not know anything about it. Could you contact the last user? Of course not, but you can ask to see the logbook of the car you are buying second-hand.

Buy from a garage, you will at least get some sort of warranty.

EXAMPLE: HonestJohn has details of over 11,500 Ford Focus cars under £1,000.
I think this job really needs
    a much bigger hammer.

it depends if they are cheap enough to start with.. the coppers ive spoke to about their cars said they wouldn't get one if it was them buying, they are ragged to within an inch of their lives and "driven like they are nicked" one copper said.
He said if you really wanted one then get an ex traffic car as they handle the mileage and abuse a bit better than the panda's

    It lasted for years.

I bought a Focus from auction that was ex police.

Was a bit of an odd spec - a 1.8 LX petrol with wheel trims and solid dark blue metallic paint. Had been used as a station car apparently.

Great tyres and drove well. Bodywork was good too.

Sold it on for a comfortable profit.
