Ex-police car - any good?

Mine has had other work done to it as well- exploring the car's proving interesting. There's more than a few aftermarket additions to the engine bay, she's producing more than the book spec we were given- obviously not complaining about that!
Found a few power leads deadending under the steering wheel last night.0 -
I've had some serious issues with it recently including a loose injector and having to replace both front and rear diffs - damned expensive and not something that normally needs replacing!
It's been used and abused and no doubt driven by people who have no understanding of how the 4wd system works - hence the damage.
The car wasn't really a bargain either.
You may or may not get servicing records with it.
Is that a Range Rover perchance?0 -
It's a TD5 Disco.0

Does anyone have a view on buying an ex-police dog unit please?
I've seen some Ford Focus estate models available at very reasonable prices for the age and mileage, and they are fitted with dog crates and ventilation.
Would these have been thrashed as much as other Police vehicles?0 -

search back for threads within the last week or maybe 2 as there is a whole thread around dog units.Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0 -
Hi,
I have found a silver ford Mondeo. there are no wholes on dash but Stereo and ashtray are missing. Dealer said that its a police car thats why they are missing. Luckily I never been into a Police car so I don't know if he is lying to me or not!
Any suggestions please?
Car is very good with low mileage.0 -

What is the mileage and age? If its neither a bog standard diesel nor a high performance petrol its unlikely to be ex police.0 -
Hi, thanks for your reply.
Its 5 years old car with 70k miles on clock, diesel with auto transmission.
I am going to check its documents tomorrow. Will see who is the first registered owner.
If its used by investigators, is it worth to buy or not?
Thanks0
