    How do you learn best?

It wasnt for me, I prefer to learn by myself - but everyone is different.

Getting it taught to me would be ideal for me. But I want to know ow whether the quality of teaching is usually good or not? Would they expect me to have previous knowledge.

It will vary from trainer to trainer - im sure we have all had good and bad teachers. It will also vary from firm to firm.

I would expect they assume you have some understanding of financial services and what a mortgage is but everything you need is in the book.

The real learning begins once your on the job.

I work for a huge high street bank and we put our mortgage advisers through 2 5 day courses for cemap 1,2&3. Pass rate is really good however I'm just about to undertake my cemap through distance learning as the courses are too far fro where I live. Feedback for these courses have been excellent from my colleagues who have been on them but it just depends on your own circumstances.

Hi mrsg. But do your colleagues have extensive knowledge already? I am beginner truth be told.

Also which is a good company to do them with in leeds area?
  • From a slightly selfish point of view, you'd be best off applying to the larger agency based companies who do mortgages - they often recruit for 'trainee advisers' and will pay training costs for CeMAP, the only 'catch' being that you need to stay with them for at least a year (or maybe 2?) to avoid having to repay training costs.

Now you seem like a nice enough fella, but you have been threatening to study Cemap for over 2 years now (in previous posts/threads)

There is only so much thinking you can do, its hardly decisive decision making at the first step..

Please just do it, or decide not to and move on
