So I brought some cod liver oil capsule for £2.99 on the internet two days ago. Iv just checked my account and in in minus. Iv the bank and they told me the company tried to take £2000 then £1000 then £300 and the last attempt was £150 which I had in my bank.
The bank are refusing to help me out saying it's my own fault and there's nothing they can do. They said the only help they can give me is to make sure this company doesn't try to access my account again.
As a result of the 3 failed attempts of getting money my bank are charging me £15 for each transaction that failed and again Santander say there is nothing they can do because when I clocked purchase online I was entering a contract with the company!!!!
How can I get my money back, any advice highly appreciated. X

I m no expert but i think you need to tell them transactions were fraudulent. If they insist you entered in contract with that company than demand to speak to manager or supervisor0 -

I did but they insisted it was my fault for selecting purchase and entering my details and all they can do is stop it from happening again to which I said well they have my details so they could use another account. I thought it was the banks duty of care to alert me of suspicious transactions on my account!!0 -
I'm afraid I don't believe your story, either you did a lot more than simply make a purchase for £2.99 or you're not telling us the truth about what your bank has said - while they can be a bit difficult to persuade that a transaction is fraudulent there's no way that any bank would respond in the way you claim.0

I'm sorry you don't believe my story but that is 100% what the man from Santander told me when I called him. He told me the money was in holding and once they receive it all the can do is make sure no future payments are taken. They will not refund my money as I entered a contract when I pressed purchased so it's my own fault. That was his exact words0

I also think this is ludicrous and that's why I'm here asking if anyone else has any similar experience or can help me resolve the issue0 -

Again you need to be firm and insist you only pressed that and agreed to pay £2.99 not 3 different trans.
And i agree with poster above me who said he doesn't believe you. No bank would treat 3 different transaction as your fault unless they can prove it otherwise.0 -
What kind of site were you buying cod liver oil from? Something smells decidedly fishy about this, if you'll excuse the pun.0

Since when do the bank charge £15 a time for declining a card transaction? Oh, right. They don't.
Something definitely isn't right here0
