Tesco Clubcard Changing Rumour

Tesco don't sell Clubcard data, it would be illegal for them to do so because if they were going to it would have to be in the terms and conditions of the scheme, which it isn't. The data collected from clubcards is purely for internal use so they can judge consumers shopping habits to help make the service better for them so more money gets spent, and so when the statements are distributed you get vouchers of most use to you, so if you only buy Flora butter you won't get a voucher for Bertolli.
Surely if you only buy Flora you might well get a voucher for something else? There isn't much point giving you vouchers for stuff you buy anyway all the time!? I notice my vouchers and spits are usually for stuff I buy but haven't bought recently or for a different brand eg Tropicana when I buy Tesco.

Tesco know by issuing vouchers for specific products that an increased percentage of customers will buy that product to get extra points. Tesco use that information when negotiating with producers, they can negotiate healthy discounts by guaranteeing sales.
Tesco are also copying almost every product sold in their stores under their own branding. Utilising the same philosophy and then phasing/ lowering the quantities of recognised brands that are available Tesco can then sell more of their own branded product. Therefore bigger profits.
Spending/ buying habits are a unique insight into customer behaviour. Tesco have invested heavily in this department and you have to admit that they will know more than you could imagine about you. Scary really.0 -
Yes, you are only going to get points on full price items, those reduced or part of a BOGOF will no longer be eligible. No points for using the Tesco credit card in Tesco. A few other minor things.
I made this up, sorry

Who's wasted the time?
Pretty obvious really. If the information posted here is just made up then you are wasting everyones time and undermining the point of the board. Sense of humour? Well those who have loads of time to mooch posts which are admitted as made up good luck to you, most of us divide our time up and spend a bit of it trying to post and get money saving tips from here. Those who blatantly lie are therefore wasting our time. I don't find it funny wasting my time, good luck to those who have so much of it to waste that it doesn't matter.

Yes but changing the way the card works is not going to mean they have no data on you is it?

As by the time you had joined the thread, I had already informed people that it wasn't true, I don't see why you are finding it an issue. Of course the thread had no substance, so not sure why you read past post four anyway. Please toddle along back to more mature Tesco discussions.
You fail to realise that I had read the thread previously before you decided to inform people it wasn't true.
Might be best for me to stick to PTS forums methinks, seem to be more people with useful help and less time on their hands to muck people around.
I've reported your threads for 'abuse'

Oh come on Dom!!!!!!!!! lol :rotfl: Lets get a bit of perspective here. Even without Al Macs admittance that he had made up his post..........I could tell it was a wind up and I find it even funnier that an even longer thread has been on the go on the PTS site all because of Al having a sense of humour
