geez whats wrong with people wanting to get money for convenience like you do , i can see nothing wrong with that like 1000s of others do
not everyone uses a card for everything so people want cash in there wallet/purse like the original poster
Nothing wrong with wanting to use cash.
However, there are several ways to get cash.
Since this is a money saving website we are simply pointing out that getting money from an ATM using a fee-free card is cheaper than changing it at any Bureau de Change.
As for there being a queue at the ATM, there are usually several ATMs available... (maybe try inside the bank if it's open... many times in the UK I've walked past a queue of people standing like lemons waiting for the outside ATM, and gone into the branch to use an ATM with no queue at all) in any case, you don't have to withdraw cash every time you get off the boat.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks

And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0 -
many times in the UK
Not all countries are as well organized as the UK for cashless transactions.
Also you can't go into a cafe order a coffee, drink it then lay 5 euros or whatever on the table and walk out if paying by card.
That way you avoid the queue paying by card.

I was just pointing out that the best deal I could find for cash before going away was to get it on the cruise ship and not delivered from Travelex.over 73 but not over the hill.0 -
But we're not talking about the UK we're talking about an ATM or 2 at a cruise terminal when 1000's of OAPs are wanting cash and can't remember their PIN.

I doubt that the only ATMs in town are at the cruise terminal. But anyway... do what works for you.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks

Ever been on a cruise?
Small town suddenly inundated by 1000's of people (especially dithery 80 year olds) all desperate to get off a ship and do the maximum in the 6 hours available.
Less 10 mins when a 90 year old takes that time to get down the gangway.
Even worse when an American ship docks at the same time and the passengers complain that they cannot get dollars instead of euros then empty the ATMs.over 73 but not over the hill.0
