Most Reliable Broadband Provider

Guys,

After switching to Orange Broadband (cheapest we could find!) we have generally been satisfied with the service, however, Mrs Oscar is now working from home 3 days a week and absolutely MUST have broadband to be able to do this. Orange is very cheap, but unreliable. We're in the Lea Valley area, the service has been totally down all weekend and is routinely down for 1 - 2 days a week. We have requested a MAC code, can anyone advise of a provider which is cost effective AND reliable? Would taking a business account improve matters?

Try freedom2surf , I have been with them for 4 years now (when I was living near Harlow) and I only remember the connection down once. Also very good customer service and speed and they don't count your downloads even if going over your limit.

Only one to look at Zen internet.

More expensive just get the home version unless you transfer loads of data each month.

Another Zen vote her, and I went to them from +net after their service (and I use the term loosely) went to pot. Zen also offer for an extra fee an SLA agreement, so ensuring problems are corrected quickly - not that you will need it as my connection has been rock solid for 13 months, and they have a one month contract anyway, so easy to leave.

PlusNet are cheap, but nasty with it. I wouldn't touch them with yours.

Zen, on the other hand : I've never heard anyone have anything bad to say about them.

When was the survey carried out, what was the sample size and margin of error?

Answering my own question, from the Uswitch site
YouGov carried out the survey in October 2006. The sample for the survey was carefully selected and controlled so that it was representative of the adult population as a whole. Respondents were members of the YouGov panel and cover all ages, socio economic groups and regions of Britain.
PlusNet ... had less than 200 responses in our survey, we do not have sufficient data to provide a statistically valid satisfaction score. This is especially important where we are offering you the opportunity to compare suppliers. A score derived from only a small number of respondents has a large margin of error so we are unable to publish these results.
