Is it possible to 'suspend' broadband?

I have broadband with EE, still within the 12 month initial contract period. I'm moving house at the end of this month, going back to parents for a bit while I sort out a new job and new place in this area (it's the other side of the country from where I am). My parents recently got a new broadband contract, so I can't "move" my EE broadband to their house. Can I "suspend" it until I find a new place and then get it "moved" to there?
I'm not bothered if I still have to pay for the broadband while it's suspended (it's a cheap deal) - what I don't want to happen is the next tenants to my current flat moving in and cancelling it by setting up a new contract with another provider! Then I'd lose the rest of the year....
I will phone them when I get home, but you lot are very knowledgable so I thought I'd ask here first

You can not suspend broadband. Your only option is to cancel and pay an early termination feeThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

I was in a similar position but with Plusnet.
They were more than happy to 'suspend' the broadband for a few months until I could move it to my new home. Although I was past the initial 12 month contract at that stage.0 -

Anyone still in the minimum term will have to pay an Early Termination of Contract (ETC) fee.0 -
If the new tenant wants their own broadband then this will trigger a CEASE on the OPs broadband. ETC then comes into play. You can not have 2 broadband services linked to the same telephone line.
I am not aware that you can have a broadband contract without the broadband being tied to a telephone line. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I didn't ask them about suspension in the end. I've got some other relatives who will take it over so I've arranged for it to be transferred over to their house. Problem solved.0
