Barclaycard ppi help I need advise

Hi everyone
I originally posted yesterday but it was long and difficult to understand so I'm going to try again .
Basically in November of last year I called barclaycard and requested a ppi claim form. I received a letter a few day later acknowledging my request and stating a questionnaire would follow . I never revived this due to moving home . I did eventually receive a letter turning down my complaint !
So I called Barclays again stating that I'd never received nor completed the questionnaire and asked how they could make the decision without any information ?! They agreed to send me a new questionnaire to complete . I did this at the end of May this year . I put as much info as possible and waited .
So as of last week I still hadn't heard anything from barclaycard so decided to call again and enquire . This is when it gets a bit strange , I called Barclays and was directed to a new number 03332021160
As I was calling from my mobile I think . Anyway I get through and speak to someone , I explain what has happened , he asked asks a few security questions and then tells me that my case in fact has been reopened and is being reviewed at the min , he then advises me to call back in a week or so .
So I call back yesterday on the same number go through a few security questions again only for the guy to tell me that in fact they haven't reopened my complaint !! I then question this and after he asks some more security questions he starts confirming a letter I'd received . I then say that I never sent letter and just phoned and completed questionnaire . He starts to read letter and it's from someone else !! After me telling him this he says something about someone having same surname and simulate ref number !!
So I ask again to confirm that he'll get my case looked at , he does says something about emailing someone , then says that they had received my payment info yet !! Long story short he gets my sort code and account number , this made me feel very uncomfortable but he says they'll need it to make any payments I'm rewarded !
Does this sound normal ? Should I call barclaycard again ? Do they normally get people mixed up etc
Thank you for any advice u can give

Don't speak to them, write to them.
You have six months from their rejection of your complaint [if it was your complaint they rejected] to go to the FOS.
If you have passed that limit, your complant is over, they don't have to reinvestigae unles you have new information, and you are too late to take it anywhere else.
If it wasn't your comalint that was rejected, if you have sent them a questionnaire and they haven't responded in over 8 weeks, send your complaint to the FOS or write and tell them ules they respond to your complaint within 2 weeks you;ll be going to the FOS regardless.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
Hi Taff
Thanks for your reply . I'm a little worried I can't go to the FOS now as it's been more than 6 month since my original complaint and rejection ! I was originally refused on 20th Nov , but I called again on 09/04/14 to say I wanted to appeal and request another questionnaire which was in the 6 month limit . I asked this on both time I called and they said not to worry as they are looking at my case again ! Should I worry ? They confirmed they received my questionnaire in the beginning of may . Also is it normal they take bank details ?
Thanks0 -
You are now dependent on them finding something wrong themselves because you are out of time to refer it to the FOS.
They have an unlimited amount of time to look at your complaint again, and they don't even have to.
They probably asked for your details to ascertain whether it was you or someone else phoning.
I wouldn't hold my breath or any hope if I were you.
All you can do now is write and ask if they have completed their reinvestigation.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
I would give the financial ombudsman service a ring and explain the situation, they are very good and will help you. I have had two complaints gone over the 6 month period, depending on what has happened they will let you know if they can still deal with your complaint.0

Thanks guys . I called this morning and they again told me that they were looking in to it as of yesterday and the operater said she couldnt understand why they didn't on recieving the questionare on may 29TH.
I think I'll give FOB a call once i get my letter she said they sent out yesterday.
I'm pretty sure I was missold the ppi, as I was sold card at the airport(2003) on the way to catch a flight by a salesperson who filled in the form , I remember she told me I had a better chance of exceptance if i took it etc . I remember saying theres no point i wont be excepted as my credit score is shocking . she then told me there was things she could to to increase my chances . Didnt explain it just said dont worry its only a couple pound a month ,0 -
"Hearsay" complaint for which you can provide no evidence. I'm not sure why the Bank agreed to "re-open" the complaint…0

What kind of evidance would i need to produce ? I have a witness who was there at the time. Surely an airport is not the ideal place for them to sell a product etc Does this mean theyll turn it down ?0

Hi thanks again for your advice.
I appreciate that a good part of my complaint is in fact hearsay , but surely a lot of these cases would be ? I would hope that the FOB would look at the way these companies practiced at the time .
I always felt my strongest argument was the fact that barclaycard approached me , at an airport non the less . I did not bank with Barclays at the time nor did I visit a branch or seek out the product online . So therefore they sold it to me . This was a lady with a clipboard at an airport and regardless of what she told me , this you could argue is not the ideal location or environment to sell nor explain a product surely ? There was no office for us to sit down and go through paper work I infact was on a time restraint as I had a flight to catch etc
Would Barclays send fully train indivuals to airports? Or was it some selling based subcontractor ? I notice you no longer see these sort of sales persons at airports any longer !?0 -
