Parking Eye - Parking Ticket

My dad parked at Southampton and paid for parking as per the requested signage.

We noticed after the ticket printed out the machine that the registration number was wrong but we entered the correct one into the machine!

My dad (who is the registered keeper) has now received a parking charge notice but thankfully we have kept the ticket to prove that we paid.

How do we word the appeal?

Thanks

A good start is to read the Newbie thread and see what that suggests!

I have read the Newbie thread.

I know that we have to appeal to Parking Eye within 14 days, enclosing a copy of the proof of payment, and get a proof of posting certificate from the post office.

I am looking for advice on how to word the appeal as I'm unsure about this bit.

use the template letter in post #1 of the newbies thread, add a point D about THE DRIVER and this ticket etc, adding a scan or copy of the ticket as proof

no naming the driver or implying who it was, appeal as RK

if they refuse the appeal, use the popla code and a PE popla appeal gleaned from post #3 of the newbies thread

The appeal is there in the newbie thread. It is essentially a copy and paste. Add additional point that driver paid so there was no loss to the company. Send copy of ticket. I assume it is only out by one digit/letter. (not a totally different reg).

The registration that came out on the ticket was completely different to what was put into the machine! I was standing beside my dad when he put the car reg in and know that he typed it in correctly.

irrelevant now as they have sent you an invoice for this, so you need to appeal it in the manner described above

PE may accept the mitigation, but popla wont

Will send a letter to Parking Eye - glad I decided to keep the ticket now!

Thanks for the advice. I'll come back & let you know the outcome.
