From the "You might not like this" page.
I think you are cutting your nose off to spite your face and the red mist is clouding your judgement.
Before you explode further, check back on a few of my posts to see I am not a PPC stooge.
Fact:- PE are probably the best PPC for cancelling charges for genuine shoppers, although equally the most litigious.
You have a bank statement in your possession which, suitably redacted, could be sent to PE asking them to cancel the charge as you were a genuine shopper and, if appropriate, a copy of your wife's BB if she has one.
On past form PE will cancel.
But if you prefer to battle on, then your call. Me? I always try the pragmatic approach. And put winning as top of the list.0 -
Thank you all again... your responses and excellent advice have been invaluable. whilst it may seem I was cutting my nose of to spite my face to some, (I understand why many people would think and feel that way) I was not willing to compromise my belief in my right (whether the law says I have the right or not) to safeguard my personal and private information, from any tom !!!!!! and harry I deem untrustworthy.
I refuse to give any company the right to dictate terms of contract onto me without my agreement or consent, the two company's concerned have no right to dictate what I have or have not agreed to.
What I have not previously said here is... Aldi's sign as far as I was aware, still stated a two hour period, though that was not used nor needed.
PE have cancelled their action.
I took the advice to heavily redact my bank statement, to the extent that all that was visible... was my name, Aldi's name, and the amount and date payment was made. Making certain PE could not misunderstand my reason for redacting information they had no right too, as well as ensuring they and their partner had no right to supply details or speak to each other concerning ANY transactional details between us.
I also informed PE of my anger and disgust at their partner Aldi's response to my questions of them, (alongside the redacted statement) Informing PE in no uncertain terms my intention to fight their dishonourable action in court if their unwarranted action was not dropped. As well as my intention regardless to take whatever action I deem fit against them.
I have no Idea at all from their terse response, why they dropped the action. but suspect they knew they would lose at popla. perhaps they have also being monitoring my recent posts on Aldis face-book page. :rotfl:

Delighted you got the charge cancelled. I suspect though the reasoning for the cancellation is based on what Guy's Dad did put forwardFact:- PE are probably the best PPC for cancelling charges for genuine shoppers, although equally the most litigious.
Your heavily redacted bank statement did the trick.Newbie thread: go to the top of this page and find these words: Main site > MoneySavingExpert.com Forums > Household & Travel > Motoring > Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking.
