NEW LOOK SOLD ME A USED iTEM......advice needed

Options
hey guys,
i went to stratford westfield on friday and bought a skirt from newlook on the sale rack . when i got home i tried the skirt on and found the waist was a bit bigger than a size 10 .so i tried to check the inner label and it was crinkled and faded and had obviously been used . i went to my local new look store to return it but they said it has a different product code than the one on the tag . so i called the stratford store and they said i have to come in but it's 2 hours away . and thats way too stressful .any advice?

When people return clothes what do you think happens to them? That they just throw them away?

A crinkled/faded label doesn't make an item unsaleable or unwearable.

You had full opportunity to inspect the item you bought. If the return policy allows for it, take it back to the store. It wasn't too stressful for you to go on Friday, why is it suddenly stressful now?

Maybe the person had a one off day trip there? And you have failed to respond to the part about the product code being different than the one on the tag.

Hmm..I remember my husband bought some shoes once, wore them before he realised they were vastly different sizes...!!The shop tried to tell me it was his fault.. Er no.. You sold me goods not as described.. Same with the op. She was buying something new, it's looking like the item may not be new.

I think it chase it up again with the head office, ask to speak to a supervisor-offer to send photos if necessary.you should be able to get a refund locally ( you have your receipt). Not the ops fault they have mis labelled.

Your poor husband didn't notice they very 'vastly different sizes' when in the shop?

    Wouldn't call him" poor"!
Shoes were in a box-he he
It's irrelevant. He thought he was buying a pair of size 9 shoes-he didn't get them- head office sorted it out.the shop refused to refund-I even asked for the manager-they came back and said the manager had refused. Head office told me the manager had never been consulted.

And the whole drama could have been avoided with a little common sense.

This is drama when it could have been sorted out if your husband had the common sense to open the box.

:TI agree - it was his fault the shop put the wrong size shoes in the box. He should have kept them and lost the money-you are so right!!
