I don't owe them any money as the insurance is void, as I never agreed to a CPA on my debit card when I took out the original insurance online 13 months ago. It's a scam and is obviously why HMG changed the law in 2009.
So you now have to declare that you have had an insurance cancelled whenever you apply for any insurance ever again.

Again, what law was changed in 2009?

If the RAC did not include the clause of the CPA then that evident is an issue and one that the FOS & ICO would have interest as well as possibly the FCA

If what you really mean is that you blindly agreed to all the T&Cs without reading them and they did infact include a CPA clause then this isnt a "scam", its you being careless and may explain why there has been no press about the illegal practices of the RAC

As long as you are admitting to having insurance cancelled, void, declined whenever taking out insurance on anything else then thats all ok. Personally I would rather spend 30 minutes cancelling my insurance properly than having to pay at least double for all my insurance for life.

Who said your NCD is lost?

You said the insurance was void, which would tie up with the effect of non-payment at renewal, which if declared means that almost no high street insurer will touch you with a bargepole.

Sub primes will, normally not accepting installments because of your history of non-payment but just as Wonga charges subtly more interest than HSBC does so do sub prime insurers charge more than prime ones. You'll still get your NCD discount though.

Still waiting to hear which law changed
