Ipad slowing down

Many thanks borse2008. I don't like the "mini" ones though
. The price in the US seem to be around £200 cheaper inc the Apple care, which I would possibly want if purchased abroad. If bought over there it seems to make sense and I quite like the idea of a new iPad! At least the old one would go to a good home
.
Smartphone gadget geek I see! Well should I swop my Samsung S3 for a new phone?? Just been told am ready to upgrade! Pity they are all so expensive.................!0 -

Slowing on the internet see my first post sodding DNSHey Lara,
As i said before its probably time for a new updated Ipad, to be honest prices of Ipad Airs are a huge saving. Shop around, there is likely to be a new Ipad before the end of the end as the new Iphones are coming in late September. Have a shop around and keep an eye out on Ipad Mini Retina 64GB is a good spec too.
Very MSE , (end of who's end) my wife's iPad is like merde(french google it) off a shovel(i.e. fast) when browsing
Everyone says my ipad/pc/tablet is slow ..... doing what??? , if you are not using the latest hd streaming/games/video editing etc. most times it's what carp you put on them or your settings/isp .... :mad:4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex . So your argument is running all your apps at the same wont effect performance or battery usage ? 99% of apps that run on the device if they are running will use push notifications. Which in turn are always running. When you go in between applications the apps dont restart they continue where you left off. On the Ipad 2 its not a good idea. as its already slow enough.
Apps don't need to be running in the background to use the push notification service, hence why I get notifications for apps I haven't ran in weeks...
The apps continue where they left off but they're not actually running in the background - there's just a snapshot of the app stored in RAM. Have you ever seen the pages in safari refresh when you go back into it? This happens when a foreground app has used the memory that Safari was using to store the cached pages in, which in turn means safari has to refresh the pages. It's a common complaint. What will your verse be?

What i would do is just double check the warranty and apple care terms for an apple product purchase from the USA. Call an apple store in the UK and ask them so your not !!!!!!ed if you do have a problem here. I get loads of people asking me is there a new or when is the new iphone coming out. September 9th 2014 is the date to watch out for.
Probably another Ipad Air is coming so dont purchase anything just yet if you can wait another month or so.
Onto your smartphone, I was an Iphone geek for a few years loved them until i moved to android.
The samsungs have a great reputation, solid and robust software.
Top 3 Handsets are HTC One M8 or S5 or a Google Nexus. Iphone 5s no point as a new one is due next month.
Really depends what you want from your phone and your budget.
HTC one M8 vs S5 Performance and Battery are pretty much identical.
Google Nexus is a great simple smartphone, personally as you know you samsung s3 inside out stay samsung get the s5. Youll love it.
Considering youll get a great phone it will still be worth it in two years time when you come to upgrade or sell it. So youll make most of your money back if you sold one.
Or an S4?Kind Regards,
Arron

Thanks Aaron. Yes I do like my Samsung but battery life isn't good now. I thought the S3 and 4 had been discontinued? Shall look round to see who can offer me an S5 with a good tariff and price. As for the iPad my sister doesnt go to US until very end of the month. Have already checked T&C's re Apple care and seems to be okay where you are. However I will contact nearest Apple store and ask. Last one we bought from JL because they offer 2 yrs guarantee. Thanks for your advice!0

The S4 is still widely available i think for free on most deals. Which network are you on? You should consider looking at something that can handle 4G as well. As this is taking off. There are new models all the time just keep your eye out on online.

On iOS you only have 1 foreground app running at a time, the rest are put into the background and set to a frozen state. The use some memory to store the current state when they are brought back to the foreground. But in the background, they do not do any processing while in the background.
Things like Push notification and music players, etc. Just register with the ios services, and its the services (that are always running) that do all the work.
Also not all apps will restore exactly how you left them, it depends how the developer implemented saving/restoring the state0
