I'm always amazed at how the small things add up too BW.
Fishfingers also feature on the mealplan here from time to time, I like stuff you can just chuck in the oven and not have to faff around with.0 -
Evening
Phew, glad to be home tonight. Today was a long slooooow day at work. Just couldn't keep my 'head in the game'. It's also very muggy here.....ugh...hoping the thunderstorms they are predicting hurry up as air definitely needs clearing.
Couple of OP's made today:
- £25 (cheque cleared from from mystery shopping payment)
- £1.47 (cashback)
Little else to report...

I've been agonising over the purchase of something... which could be argued as frivolous. However, it's something I really want and I will get a lot of use out of it. I have the money for it but can't shake the guilty feeling. I think it's because I know there is always something 'better' I could be doing with the money.
Does anyone else get a feeling of guilt when they spend money?0 -

I do, most times, but usually leave it for a week or so, then if I still want it, i go for it, that way it's not an impulse buy
You say " it's something I really want and I will get a lot of use out of it" then go for it, so long as it's not a new house :rotfl: with new mortgage

I do! I usually have to force myself to spend my monthly allowance because I keep thinking "well, I could OP this instead". I remind myself that even without extra OPs, our current plan has us almost on track to pay off the mortgage in the time-frame I want (right now we're 2 months over). As we have 4+ years to do it I'm confident we can get that down, so I try not to stress about it.
It's all about balance - if you know that what you want isn't foolish to buy (or even if it is but it's budgeted for), then go for it.
There's no sense needlessly depriving yourself to save a few pounds down the line.

Hi BW - yes I get a feeling of guilt when spending money on myself, if I spend it on other people then it's fine. I am trying to relax a bit more and allow the occasional splurge, it's not always easy though.
What are these elusive thunderstorms that you speak of? Wish they'd come here.

Thanks AFK... that made me chuckle. Definitely NOT a new house!
I have finally given in and joined the world of tablet ownership. I used some vouchers from surveys towards it (so not totally removed from MSE ways). Have to say loving it so farhiddenshadow wrote: »

Sound advice as usual Hidden.mortgage_girl wrote: »What are these elusive thunderstorms that you speak of? Wish they'd come here.
I thought the same until yesterday when I got caught in the worst flash flooding I've ever seen  The effects didn't last long either as back to being a muggy sticky day today too.
One more day to go till the lovely weekend is here

Good for you, you will get endless hours of enjoyment out of your new tablet.
Even more so if you use it to list items on the bay of e :rotfl:and make it pay for itself
Wishing you endless fun with it. Nice Buy. :TAlways have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.190 -
Hope you enjoy the tablet! I resisted getting one for a long time but do find it useful. I don't use it that much these days (too much time working
), but I do like playing games on mine and it's really handy for knitting patterns.

:j yay it's the weekend!! It's been a bonkers day at work...but at least it meant the hours flew past. And it really did, I couldn't believe where the time went today.
I've come home to a £3 survey payment, £20 E voucher and a PC survey which will be a further £3 when it arrives.
Feel pretty worn out tonight (probably not helped by staying up late last night to play with my new toy) so looking forward to a lazy evening
