  • Uh oh! I had a bad feeling about it going through on April fools day. :( Hope you get it sorted quickly.

Talking about April fools day, my Nanna told me today that they painted the white cliffs of Dover. When I asked why she said that it was so they could be seen by ships. She then went on to explain that B&Q donated the paint and that there was a picture of them painting it in yesterday's paper. I then reminded her that that was April fools day (although it did take me a while to convince her that it wasn't real and I had to push the point that paint wouldn't stick to chalk). Bless her, she does make me smile.

It has transpired that the bank have messed up and the remortgage completion didn't complete yesterday  They have admitted their error but I'm still peeved about it... especially as I was VERY late being told about it. So now have to wait until Monday to sort and also no idea what it means for my payments, etc.

It does make me understand why some people are reluctant to change things...as when you do there often seem to be various issues. Although having said that the outgoing provider have had their own issues this year...so maybe it's just the way financial services are these days?

So how much compensation did they offer..........

Thanks All - I'm sure it will get sorted. Could just do without the hassle right now.

MG - seems your premonition was right :( I never thought what the date was - just picked it as was when the old deal ran out. Cute story about your nanna

MC - no compensation offered as yet but I will be in touch with them Monday to tell them how displeased I am.

No update to do for monthly spreadsheet as no OP's made whilst waiting for remortgage to go through. Also, can't update the April payment info either as not sure what will happen with those yet when new bank issue sorted. Just want it all done so I can get back to making some OP's. I've really missed it :o

In other money news - I've received a £20 refund on my car tax for the vehicle I traded in - so will pay that in and then OP when I can.

Managed to get a few surveys done yesterday too. One is at cashout level and two others are close.

    Not bad thanks Ed.
Feel like I've reached a bit of a plateau (as feel million times better than a week ago but now can't quite shake off stuffy nose/ears/sinuses). Guessing it will just be a matter of time.
Work tomorrow will also be a test ;)

Well I survived my first day back at work.

Sadly, the position with the remortgage wasn't as smooth. Despite confirming to me in writing they had all relevant documents and would complete today, the bank could not confirm the same to the solicitors, and so now will be tomorrow (assuming of course they can manage that!). Needless to say I'm pretty  about it and will now be making a formal complaint.

Hope the bank comes through tomorrow! At the very least they should credit you the interest you would have saved if it had all gone through on Friday.
  • Oh dear, you don't need the hassle when you have been poorly. I hope it gets sorted soon.
Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D
