In an attempt to feel domesticated today, I have baked a cake. When I took it out of the oven, I noticed that it hadn't risen much. Suddenly had a thought, checked cupboard and it turns out I used plain flour instead of self raising. Doh! :rotfl:0

You really have made the most of your week off. Well done on those steady OP's too, you really don't let any money go to waste. Wish I was a bit more like you!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0

Awww thanks Cath
I've tried to have a balance of what needed to be done with plenty of chill out time too. I do feel like I've had a good break - which I bet will be forgotten within about an hour of getting into work tomorrow!
On the money front - I don't feel like it's very controlled right now, I've definitely been a bit lax this year. I figure that any OP amounts, however small, still count though - and so I'm trying to focus on that! I think you are doing amazingly - juggling all the extension stuff as well as everything else! Perhaps we all need to cut ourselves some slack hey?0 -
Well it's back to the real world aka work tomorrow. Shame but it's a necessary evil. I do actually feel rested and that I've had a good break so that's something.
Had a fairly relaxed day - just pottering around at home and trying to chill as much as possible.
I'm sure the early alarm will be a shock to the system in the morning
I've felt a bit unsettled this evening...and since refusing to let work in just yet.... have decided that it's because there is no Sunday night Downton Abbey...somehow seems odd not winding down with it in the Autumn...

Was just thinking the same thing, could have a couple of hours of this on a Sunday night. I agree, it's fab
They also have Downton Abbey DVD's coming out in either a weekly or monthly magazine, didn't quite catch all of the tv advertAlways have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.190 -
Morning - well this week seems to have bypassed me somehow
You can tell I'm back at work! I knew this week would be busy but I hadn't reaslised how mad it would be  Next few weeks look set to be the same too
Thanks for stopping in ETE, Pushkin and AFKNo, I haven't been watching Victoria. I missed the first few episodes so will have to see if I can get it on catch-up. Cheers for the recommendation.
Have managed a few small OP's this week as survey payments and/or cashback has landed - up to £30.25 total.
I've also carried out a mystery shopping task in one of my lunch hours so should get £10 from that at some stage
I don't get paid til Monday and I'm down to my last few pounds. However, I should be able to manage a NSD weekend as I have food in and petrol in the car and no major plans - so fingers crossed.
Plenty to do around the house again and I've got some pre-course work to do for the coming week ahead.

Wow BW - 12 bags to the charity shop! That is some serious decluttering. ... Fancy coming to help with mine? :rotfl:
It sounds like you had a lovely chilled fortnight, it's always such a shame to have to go back to work isn't it.I hope this week is much calmer than last week for you.

Good Morning
Can't believe it's been over a week since I was last in - time is whizzing again! It's been a horrid time at workand I've not really had time or brain capacity for much else in an evening. The forseeable future isn't looking much better either. I've considered looking for something else but I just don't have the confidence (or the energy) right now.
In better news, I finally have a bed in the spare room :j Only taken me just over 6 years :rotfl:It was a teensy bit more than I wanted to spend ideally but I've got a bed & headboard that I'm happy with and so that's ok. Also with a bit of clever planning, it won't hit the cc til next month
Yesterday had a night out with friends (which was a welcome relief) and we went to a murder mystery night. I wasn't sure what to expect really but it was a lot of fun and we had a great time. The food was pretty good too. We didn't guess the murderer right (we narrowed it down to two options and picked the wrong one!) but still enjoyed ourselves. I recommend it as a group event if you fancy something a bit different
Little to report on the survey front. Keep plugging away but I'm in between payout thresholds on most.
OP's are ticking along - and this week I've made payments of £15, £7, £25 respectively. These have all come from Bay of E sales. I just put a few things up as I've come across them when sorting the spare room - and I'm amazed at what people will buy!
Frustrating that the 1st of the month was a weekend day as banks won't update til Monday and I want to know where I am. Gives me something to look forward to though I guess (not sure if that makes me sad or not?!)
I'm trying to get motivated today but struggling. I think another :coffee: first0
