Anyone got anything positive to say about Co-op Energy? I've been with them for 6 months. They don't answer emails at all although they promise to do so within 5 days. They ask for monthly meter readings but do nothing with them. They vary the DD payments without informing me first. I suspect my payments are not keeping up with my true spend but without statements I can't be sure. I'm not worried, I'll pay it off when the bill eventually arrives but they really are hopeless.

Likewise I have been with them for 6 months and I am being honest in saying that after Scottish Power they are a dream to deal with - and believe you me I HATE energy companies.
I started with them in January but didn't make the first dd payment until February. Agreed they ask for meter readings every month but they have produced two bills for me now - each at 3 months. Are you registered to manage your account online? If so look under My Statements on the left. I applied only on Monday last (28th) to change from Fixed Price Energy March 2015 to their new tariff Fair & Square as it was £97 cheaper per year and it was done with no problems, by Thursday I had received a bill for up to Monday on the old tariff and was all confirmed good.
I never e-mail them - I always phone them as unlike Scottish Power who keep you waiting for over an hour or just tell you to call back, I have never waited longer than 5 minutes to speak to someone at Co-op Energy. I can only speak as I find but so far so good.
When I received my April bill I was e-mailed to say that they were going to increase my DD by 5 pounds a month as I was a month late starting my payments. I called them and said that my usage would go down during the summer months and they reduced it straight back down without issue - unlike Scottish Power who always seemed to want an argument.

Finding them ok,although I cant log into my account(windows 8 problems).they have been great with my bills and I usually email monthly meter reads,i can also leave them without any penaltys which I think is good as bg were charging me £60.

I've just found out that they will be about £200 a year cheaper than Eon for my usage.

Is 50p a day saving worth the hassle?

And that's exactly the mentality that enable the big six to ride so rough shod over their customers. You can have that attitude with any supplier - energy/insurance/broadband, depends how deep your pockets are. If saving money is too much hassle for you then perhaps this is the wrong website for you!

Well you can get bad service from all the providers. I am with SP but not for long, the queues on phone are unbelievable. The ring back service they say they provide for me doesn't work they dont ring back.

Oh and sticking two fingers up at the big 6 cartel is so very rewarding now almost as gratifying as hitting Tesco where it hurts. Who would believe 2 years ago how bad it is getting for them now people jumping ship to the cheaper alternatives. if only Aldi did gas/electric ;)

Hurrah! You could save £196 a year! from moving from SP too coop.

I have decided that 50p a day is worth the hassle.

I put the process into motion on-line.

Now should I change to Eon's standard tariff and save the £10 penalty or will the time it takes to change from Eon negate the £10 penalty?

We've been with Co-op Energy for a couple of years and it's all been very smooth. I get online statements and have always had an email before any changes were made to prices/DDs.

We've always checked our monthly usage so now I email the figures in and get membership points for doing so.

I have changed 6 providers in last 6 years and had issues with all of them (small or big doesn't matter). Sometimes it is to do with wrong billing or DD changes or not answering the calls.

On the other hand, I have few friends who don't even bother to look at their bills and therefore haven't contacted the customer support in years. For them, good or bad CS doesn't matter.

It all comes down to YOU if you can handle these adversaries (if they arise) and whether it is worth a hassle to save you some ££ by switching or not.

For me, any saving (£50 or £300) is worth it because £50 is equivalent to almost 8 hours of work on minimum wage of £6.31. I would prefer to save £50 instead of work for 8 hours (No, I am not lazy :))

Well just joined them nice to stick two fingered salute to the big 6. As a bonus I should save some money, the catalyst for me was SP's greed.
