Crackling noise from bt landline

I got terrible crackling noises from my two bt phones. It is almost impossible to make or receive any calls, bt has agreed to divetr all calls to my mobile. I was also informed if it is due to my equipment's I will have to foot the bill, also the broadband went down completely. Today the BB is working on and off nut not…

Been there, done that, got it sorted! Dare I suggest you read through this thread of mine where much help is offered, that way you could do a process of elimination.

But, despite trying removing lid of bt box and using the cable directly, I have come to the conclusion that it might have been static caused by modem on router (or visa versa) and now they are separated, it has cleared up.
