Of course, he'll be out of commission for a bit after his op, but won't be at work anyway. I can't lift the ironing board myself, so if there's anything that wants ironing, I shall put the table leaf up and put a towel on it, and use the little lightweight travel iron (the big iron Mr LW uses is very heavy) and that'll just have to suffice.;)

Morning all,
Hi Bargainbird, tru donny gal you are all so clever with your crocheting. I have seen a beautiful little pair of shoes for our new granddaughter due in February but I don't know if my crocheting is up to it. I will have a go but I may be asking lots of questions.
Are they the designer ones with all. Beads and ribbons? They do look fab, but the pattern is nearly as much as buying them from her.

Afternoon all,
ive got a touch of the poor old me's today. Millie dog has got an upset tummy and didn't get outside in time. Actually she didn't quite make it to the stairs. Thought she'd lions in her tummy last night the noise it was making but now I know why. I nearly threw up when I got out of bed first thing and saw what met me on the top of the stairs. I got up what I could and hubby cleaned the carpets with the carpet cleaner. I don't know whats upset her tummy. I did change her food about 3 weeks ago but all was well. She hasn't eaten anything that Lucy dog hasn't eaten too so I don't know whats upset her.
We popped out at 11 so that I could get some live yoghurt. Hopefully it will settle her stomach as I don't really want another morning like today. Still, we couldn't tell her off. She never has accidents, she's genuinely got a tummy bug. One question... does anyone know if natural yoghurt is the same as 'live' yoghurt? I went for a pot that said it was 'live' yoghurt as I was unsure of whether a pot of natural yoghurt would have the same benefits on an upset tummy.
Oh well, onwards and forwards before I moan some more,
have a great day all. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

jlhmd666 - sorry to hear that you're not sleeping too good. I know how it feels cos I've not slept properly since I retired - seriously thinking of getting blackout blinds for the bedroom. :T on your breadmaking - wish it was something that I could get right
Mum was quite a bit brighter yesterday and she's finally been moved into a 'side-room' in the hospital due to the ESBL infection that she's picked up while in there - been waiting over a week for this room to become available.
Love the hugs Lily
Blackout blinds would be a good idea for the bedroom. Hate it when I don't get a proper sleep. With regards the bread making it all goes in the machine so it's just a matter of measuring ingredients. We don't eat bread from the shops as I would rather make it but suspect I wouldn't have the energy to manually knead the dough.
Sorry to read about the infection your mom has picked up. Hope it is clearing up now2016 Grocery Challenge January: £296.20/£300 February: £262.05/£3000 -
Just popped into Chipping Norton inbetween showers, and went in a craft shop, saw a knitted pair of Mary Jane shoes, not dissimilar to my crochet ones selling for £7.50!!

DH took me shopping today and he has thoroughly spoilt me :happyhear He says that I don't think of myself enough, so we left everyone at home and snuck out early
I came home with two pairs of shoes, a new nightie, lots of new undies, a dress and a skirt, some craft bits and six cook books (I know it is an obsession:p)
We have had one heavy shower that only lasted about 20 minutes at 4pm, it is just clouded over again. I don't mind my poor garden needs a good drink and the water barrels need to fill up again.
Must go and get DD from work
BFN xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Had a friend come to visit today. Was lovely to see her but was also awkward as she was dropping hints that she needed money and it felt as though she was asking without asking.
Apart from that I managed to make the Tiffin and my lot loved it so that will be on the menu quite often now. I made an apple and blackberry crumble for tomorrow and was able to do two jars of red cabbage which I really hope turns out well. I also made some blueberry jam and lemon curd tarts - not mixed togetherbut that was simple as I had the pastry cases already made (bought from Approved Foods).
I ordered another book thanks to comments on old threads and that came today so I will start reading that. It's:
The Family Manager Takes Charge by Kathy Peel. It's about "getting on the fast track to a happy, organised home".
Hopefully it will also give me some useful ideas2016 Grocery Challenge January: £296.20/£300 February: £262.05/£3000 -
Good morning all
Feeling quite exhausted today so will be conserving energy as much as possible. It doesn't help that I'm not sleeping well. OH is taking the kids out this afternoon for a bit so I can rest up, which will help.
I've been up a while so the WM is running and clothes have been sorted into piles ready for ironing. Yesterday I made a seeded loaf of bread which was so nice I'm making more today (in the bread maker). We went blackberry picking as well yesterday so I'm going to do something with those and last night I soaked some red cabbage in brine so going to get that pickled. Youngest DD will help with this as she likes being in the kitchen.
That's about it for today I think. If I can I want to have a go at making Tiffin:

as I'm sure my brood will lIke it but will see how the day goes
Hope you all have a super Saturday
So glad you like the recipe! it`s a winner isn't it! You cheered me up by finding it!0
