I would not be happy with a camera pointed at the back of my property. As above have said it is a violation of your privacy.[/QUOTE]
OP said it is pointed into the back of the neighbours own property, not OP's.
She says that they can see it from their property.0 -
is the OP actually sure its directed at their place considering it is a dome camera which really unless you are directly underneath it can you tell where teh camera is pointingDon't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked0

The camera is only supposed to cover your own property. Someone I know went through a dispute with their neighbour a few weeks ago because not only was it recording their own property it was recording part of my friends property as well.
The police got involved and told the friends neighbour off. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Even so, the chances are high that the OP and her family can be seen/picked up by the neighbour's camera.
And photographing her hubby half cut and taking the p1ss out of him; well that was well out of order IMO.(•_•)

I work in the legal sector, there is no infringement of your rights here as your neighbour is perfectly within his to install a camera. The only time that this becomes an offence is if the camera obtains footage or is in any way directed into or on to your property all that of a public place. As long as the footage he is obtaining is that of his own property he is perfectly within his rights here.
Clearly you need a lesson in the law.
Anyone can record anything they like as long as they ( or their camera ) is positioned either on their property or on public property.0 -

They police don't know the law then0 -
I can understand your annoyance, but he is well within his rights to put up a camera.
If you want privacy you are responsible for this, so put up a blind or a net and some curtains.
If you have concerns you are being filmed, contact your local police and ask if they will review footage taken.0 -

Don't shoot the messenger.he has two cameras on the front of his property and one at the back he has been warned by the police those cameras are to be on HIS property only he has been warned also when he showed a video to the police of children playing on the field infront of the street to which the police told him it was illegal to film children or anyone else with his cctv cameras as there only to protect his own property and nobody elses. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. We do not have any blinds or curtains in the kitchen because we like to look out into the garden to see if there is anyone trying to get in to get a ball or using it as a short cut and then we just give them a look to tell them they should not be there!
To clarify, is the neighbour immediately next door to your house and therefore you think that the camera not only looks into the back of their house but also the back of yours?
I would agree with others who have said first thing you should do is have a chat with the neighbour. Perhaps it's there for a perfectly good reason and your house may not even be in it's range.0 -
It may not be set on our property, but the fact that I can see it is a bit alarming.
I will be putting curtains up now.0
