what do you mean that your mum is 68 ( on paper) she either is or she isnt!

I think the Op probably means her Mum thinks she's still 21.

when was she transferred to PIP?

Let’s cut a long story short she is 68 on passport.

He could well still have an active credits only claim. He can cancel this if he has sufficient NI Contributions for his pension.

For future reference, 'NO' is not a polite way to respond to someone that has offered you help.

I doubt he has enough contribution.
I said NO because a lot of assumptions were made.

They both receive DLA and Pension Credit. Nothing more nothing less.

Both of them are on PIP.
My dad is registered legally blind.

So the PIP bit was a mistake?

If your Dad is over 65, is he entitled to Attendance Allowance?

assumptions are made because of the lack of facts.
are your parents receiving DLA or PIP.
they would also receive your mothers state pension as well as pension credit
  • IMHO U mentioned they used to get income support - could it be that DWP did not close it in Jan 2014 & so dwp might be trying to migrate them to ESA? It would explain a lot.

My mum's chronological age is 68 but biological age is not 68. Legally she is 68 and never changed her age. I hope this satisfies people's curiousity :)

They renamed many benefits so I thought DLA didn't exist anymore and was renamed PIP.

Good point. This could be a possibility because they ATOS lady on the phone said the medical was for ESA.

Before they started getting PC they were getting IS. Last January they stopped IS and they started claiming PC which is £222 a week.

They've been getting DLA for at least 5 years.

It is dla for existing claims, pip for new claims. Your dad may of had ESA credits which is still active and that is why he needs to considered if he still needs them for state pension purposes, if he does then he needs to go to the assessment, but if he has enough contributions for state pension then get the claim closed.

Income support would of had to close in order for the pension credit to be paid as they use the same system :)

I don't fully understand this part in red!! Whats an ESA credit? Why does he need ESA credit for state pension? Get what claim closed? I don't think he has enough NI contribution either.

    So what's our situation here.

My dad is registered blind as well due to progressive Retinitis Pigmentosa. What are they gonna consider with a man who is unable to do anything?

It is a sickness benefit - he may of been on the old incapacity benefit and got credits only ie has enitlement but could not get paid, so got income support instead.
