Amazon amazing customer service

Options
Just amazing customer service from Amazon. Brought an x-box controller with play and charge kit, but it has failed after 4 weeks use so just outside the 30 days return limit.
Emailed customer service, the contact us section is quite hard to find, but a forum search turned up the link.
Within the hour they have replied, are sending a replacement and upgraded the super saver postage to first class so it arrives as soon as possible and are a sending return postage sticker....just WOW :T
Was expecting a battle to return for exchange, very impressed with such efficient service.
I have always relied on the kindness of strangers

They do have good customer service, but as people who pay our taxes we can be somewhat annoyed that Amazon pay hardly any tax. The most important service we need is the health service when we fall ill, and that needs to be paid for.

If we ignore the tax issue (which is actually more a falling of our government to tax big companies), I have found Amazon's customer service excellent.

I bought a big 10 cup teapot which developed a hairline fracture around the base after a couple of months. I reported the issue online and they replied straight away, asked me to return the teapot, they arranged for it to be picked up from my home and asked if I wanted a replacement or refund. Unfortunately the teapot had been ordered from a seller but fulfilled by Amazon so they couldn't replace it but they refunded me immediately and I was able to replace order for a new teapot within 2 days.
There was no squabbling over consumer rights, no they will have to send it for inspection, etc.

There is no doubt that Amazon's customer service is excellent.

There is no doubt that Amazon has been growing at a phenomenal rate for years.

There is no doubt that Amazon have a loyal and ever expanding customer base.

Why is it that there are so many companies with shoddy customer service that fail to make the link between the first statement and subsequent ones?

I'm sorry I didn't realise this was MoralSavingexpert.com...maybe you want to move that gripe on over to the discussion board?

No one should pay more tax than they legally have to. Fair play to Amazon imo.

It is a money saving point, as if big global corporations don't pay sufficient tax then services suffer meaning we have to pay privately for decent health, education etc. and/or have higher tax bills ourselves. Recent examples include VAT being put up to 20%, students being levied £9K a year tuition fees, and the bedroom tax.

But the Government are doing nothing about this loop hole.So dont blame Amazon,Vodafone and all the others as the Government has had long enough to close the loop hole but has not bothered.

So you are saying don't blame them for taking advantage of a situation as they never created it.

Anyway Amazon are good for returns until they think something is wrong, over a 2 year period I bought computer parts and many died and a few items I bought for presents I returned as saw them cheaper elsewhere and I got a email one day saying I had a "high amount" of refunds on my account so they found it suspicious and closed it, this was only about 2 weeks after buying a £500 graphics card from them that I returned as it was faulty and never got the cash back since they ignored all my emails.

So is this sort of performance acceptable?

I used to shop with Amazon a lot, but I'm afraid I avoid them now due to the tax issue.

What happened when you took them to the small claims court?
