    Aaargh, just lost a post!

    Morning All

August already? How did that happen?

Went for a coffee yesterday with friends that turned into having wine and a chinese meal! What started as meeting for a couple of hours turned into an evening out! Still we sorted out arrangements for going away next week.

Managed to get the washing nearly dry outside yesterday, not sure what to do with it today, it's overcast at the moment so will wait an hour or so. Did quite a lot of cleaning yesterday as my Cousin and her husband went home so I had the place to myself for the morning - does anyone else feel they have to re-take control when they've been away?

Going to see if I can get a couple of Tuna steaks, DD would like that for tea with 'real' vegetables (ie carrots, green beans and broccoli). Also need to get some other bits of shopping.

Dumpling - Hope today is better for you, I'm sure it won't take you long to get used to what you can and can't eat.
nmlc - Have a good holiday.

Enjoy your Fridays, take care. XX

    Morning all,

Looks to be another nice day although we are meant to have rain from today onwards over the weekend.

Day off today and dd and I are off for a girls shopping day, we do it every so often and treat ourselves to lunch and a nice coffee out ( I buy lunch dd buys the coffee) I need some new t shirts and a pair of black linen trousers for work (too hot for anything else)

Dinner tonight will be spag bol I bought a big pack of mince and will cook it all off and turn half into a chilli for next week.

Will get the washing on the line before we go.

Elona hugs to you all xx

Dumpling, as everyone has said it is very manageable, once you have your head round it I am sure you will be fine.

    Have good days all xx
  • Good Morning everyone, hot and humid last night so we had very little sleep but this morning is much cooler, overcast and even trying to rain, it's lovely!!!

Off to town to get DD1 a Grill while the stocks are in the shop and to do a little grocery shop for the weekend. We won £20 at the pub quiz last night so that's gone into the christmas fund.

DD in Zambia is off on safari today and flys home for Monday morning quite early, she's really enjoyed the expedition and so have the kids with her but will be glad now to get back to civilisation and home.

Have a good day everyone, Lyn xxx.

    Morning all,
Had a good day yesterday Got my nails done, since the cancer, my own nails are so good I've stopped having false ones. Got four novels and a lovely jug in the Hospice shop.

OH will be here later, and tomorrow it's Hastings Carnival, so will be going to that and watching the fireworks.

Gammon steaks for dinner. More Commonwealth games. Good day!

:hello: everybody - wow how busy is it on here this morning!

dumpling - sorry to hear that your doc would be that insensitive to break 'unpleasant news' to you over the phone :naughty:. However, I'm sure they'll make an appointment for you to see somebody to give you the help/advice to get yourself sorted. I've also seen people 'reverse' things at an early stage - so just 'take it all on board' and follow their advice. Maybe your local Health Authority/Council has some 'Healthy Programmes' available in conjunction with a local gym ................ ours does a 'Change for Life' programme that's fantastic. I know from experience as I've lost 7stone with their help! We can all make changes, but they need to be 'steady long-term effective changes' rather than quick fixes - you 'Go Girl' exercise.gifswim.gifgoodscales.gif

Good Luck to all 'blessed' with child-minding at the moment ;) and hope everybody else has a good OS day as well.

    Plans for today include:
    • Have a lovely shower - still feel all yukky even though the temps have dropped dramatically. Still got the windows open in the bedroom and living room though as the cool breeze is most welcome.
    • Make myself a packed lunch to take out with me.
    • Visit Mr T's - need to add some points to my clubcard as OH 'forgot' to take the card with him last week  - note to self DO NOT go for a coffee.gif while in there.
    • Visit Mum in hospital and try to 'chivvy her along' - she's got yet another UTI - plus another chest infection - and is slipping back into not wanting to drink her fluids again. Poor love is so p'd off after all this time that she's going 'stir-crazy'. If she had the energy she'd organise the Escape Committee ..............
    • Got another 'People's Friend Annual' for mum from the CS yesterday, hopefully that'll help cheer her up.
    • Another Stir-Fry for evening meal tonight - not sure what time we'll actually get to eat it though - depends on how long it takes me to get back home from the hospital.

Right, it's about time I shifted my asre - otherwise I'll get a glimpse of JK then I'll get never ready .............. HSwhistle.gif

Take care all - have a good day - luv Lilyplonk xx

    Morning all,

I've not posted for a few days but try to read when I can. I've had my DGS for three days so it's been busy.
My TN is really bothering me just now, think I'm a bit tired and stressed so trying my best to be more chilled out.
We've decided to turn the box room into a room just for me, where I can relax, craft and keep all my paperwork etc. shouldn't take much. There is a built in single bed that my grandson used to sleep in which I'm going to turn into a day bed:D I'm excited .
dumpling sorry to hear about your diagnosis but as others have said it's very manageable, hope you can avoid meds.
Camelot I'm exactly the same when I've been away or had people to stay, it's as if I have to mark my territory again:rotfl:

Going to nip to the charity shops shortly and DGS has asked for a sausage roll for his lunch. I will take him home about 3 ish. It's a forty minute journey on the motorway which I hate. Yesterday had to divert because some poor soul tried to throw himself off the bridge. Luckily he was talked down.
Anyway hoping for a quiet weekend as next weekend we are away with my son and his gf and baby bump with gf family. We are going to watch the polo:T
Have a lovely Friday all x

    Morning all

We had a glorious day yesterday sat at the side of the river, DH never caught any fish which was a bummer but never mind a good day was had by us all, although I think I maybe ate abit too much picnic food as I woke this morning at 6 with terrible tummy ache, It always happens when I over indulge on naughty food, so a light soup for me for lunch today and plenty of water!

DH is off again today and I'm childminding my friends boys again, so I'll spend the morning in home catching up with jobs round the house, DS has asked for HM pizza for tea tonight so I'll make a few of those with him.

Hope you all have a lovely day :)

  • Well that was a waste of time, no power at work so I wasn't able to do anything, so I came home.
Last bit of decluttering will be done in a sec & then some sewing.
    Hugs Hester
    Chin up, Titus out.
  • Good morning all.

    Dumpling (((hugs))) xxx

We are all tired today after spending the day at Adventure Island. The kids had a great time. I managed to burn. Forgot to put sun cream on the front of my neck. And I can't find any after sun.

I've had a really lazy morning. I'm not even dressed yet. I've done nothing.

Today I need to go into one of the local towns and try and get some summer clothes. I've left it late and we are going on holiday in October. Winter clothes are already in the shops. Grrr.

If I can get dd our of bed, I might take them all to lakeside after lunch. It's cooler in there and there are more shops.

Ok, I feel ashamed to still be in my pjs!

    Love, hugs and spoons xxx

    Hi everyone,

Dumpling, sorry you have had that diagnosis - just don't do what my mum did. She used to take her blood sugar, say that it was fine and reach for the sweets!

Not feeling at all well, I think I've got a chest infection so I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself. I'm such a wimp, I really need to take myself in hand.

DD and DS are both back from their hols tomorrow, I hope they have had a good time. I'm sure I'd have heard if they have had problems, although the days are gone when they used to call to be rescued from some problem.

I was bad yesterday and went to a fabric shop. I've been avoiding them this year but I have an idea in my head for a Japanese style quilt in subdued colours. I spent a fortune, but hopefully I'm still within my budget for the year so far.

I was also ripped off, not on fabric but on a bulb for my Neff oven - I rang the service centre and it cost nearly £10 inc p & p. When it came it was a fairly ordinary one I could have got for less than £4. I suppose it's my own fault for not taking the old one out to look, but it would have been helpful if the manual had said what was needed.

    Have a good day.
