No luggage!

No big deal.
Move along.
“Should I answer”? ...“You are joking mate, that’s just what they want, what they feed off, don’t do it!”.... “Oh ok, yes you’re right, I’ll not give them what they crave for”.......”oh sh*t I just can’t help myself”.
How easy is that? to come on here and give replies like ‘it happens’ and ‘move along’ or should I write
How easy.
Is that.
To write.
Replies like that.
That style of writing shouts out ‘look at me, look at me’ ....so ok, I will look at you.
I think people such as this get off on replies like that, the cyber bully, someone who gives the keyboard a real pounding, tap, tap, tap, they do this because they were probably bullied themselves at some point, at school or at work maybe, and instead of getting help and sorting it out in the real world, they vent their anger and frustration by sitting in their lonely room to try and gain authority by writing curt, sarcastic replies that are far from helpful. Tap, tap, tap.
”ooo here’s one that will get my ‘thanks’ count up! ” thinks this person, “Oh and it will show people how ‘authoritative’ I can be, it will show them that I take no messing, that’ll get their respect for sure”... and true enough they come from like minded people. Tap tap tap.
What probably pulled in this type of person in the first place was my ‘over the top’ exclamation mark in my title...which, in hindsight, looks like a bit of a drama...but when your two young daughters are 6000 miles away without any luggage and they intended moving to a town 3 hours away, it is a worry for any parent...luggage that incidentally came in 17 hours after they arrived at the airport carousel...and yes it probably did sound like an ’update’ with no real substance, hence one sarcastic remark saying so....parenting hey!
But it wasn’t really the ‘it happens’ acceptance by one poster, who incidentally, I really wish that from now on, every time they went overseas, their luggage stayed in another country...let’s see if the ‘it happens’ attitude remains
No it was the one line sentence broken down into three lines, with their neat full stops. That must have been so satisfying to get that down on the computer, I can just imagine the excitement of this person as they hit the ‘send’ button...waiting and waiting in anticipation for the replies and thanks to come in...who knows what actions they took next, probably it wasn’t just the keyboard that took a pounding!
I doubt very much if this is the first time this person has used this style, oh no, it’s tried and tested...it works every time, ever since they copied the style from someone else. Tap, tap, tap.
Now the ‘move along’ remark was meant to really go for the jugular, and in a way I suppose it worked...sad to say but it did, but only in a ‘I feel really sorry for their sad life’ kind of way.
You see, I have traveled the world, both in commando forces and outside the military (although not Japan!) and I have seen things that would probably make this person wet themselves....I know what’s what in life and don’t really need to ‘move along’ ...
I guarantee one thing though, there is no way on this earth that this person would speak to me in person in the same condescending way that it was written, they simply wouldn’t.
I worry about my girls when they travel, always have and always will...so..
Little person.
Tapping away.
Do one.
Ps...the more people accept things like this as ‘it happens’the more they will happen...bending over , taking it and saying ‘never mind’ isn’t in my make up...sad really that other people are willing to kowtow.0 -
Overreaction much?0

There have been unhelpful responses but not sure how you've been a victim of bullying on this thread.0

So OP - you made a statement - what follow up did you expect ?
Me - I'd have asked what the rights are ? How they get fed/watered/clothed etc
The rest of the 'advice' from people is valid in that it's all part of the adventure - my best was presenting to the European Board of a major Fast Food restaurant in t-shirt/shorts as my suit etc were somewhere between London and Warsaw - at least the presentation was memorable to them
As for the 'bullying' :rotfl::rotfl:0 -
a couple of points
i get the defensive dad thing and thats cool i feel the same way about my other half and my family, haven't got kids but hey ho.
however you came on here and just made a statement if you had asked a question, like "what can i do" "has anyone got any advice" the responses would have been different. An outsider, as we all are, just see's this as a throw away comment. If i were to put on here "just had a pint in a bar in mexico city" i would expect some banter, and thats what is just banter.WaxiesDargle wrote: »

but as far as this goes i dont feel the need to share with anyone on here what i have seen or done with my working life and i also dont feel the need to share such info to validate my point, with the exception of my current post and then i do it purely to highlight the fact that i understand the subject.
i hope your kid/s are well and they get their baggage back post haste.Live each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0 -
WD your post was spot on. This site is full of them. Probably all fat jobless wastes of flesh that have nothing better to do. Look at the reaction to your post as well.

If everyone who experienced something as pedestrian as delayed luggage would come in here to post about it the forum would be swamped.0

I'm fortunate that I've never had my luggage lost or delayed (touch wood) but I always make sure that I have a change of clothes in my hand luggage and whatever else I would need to survive 24 hours - basically a credit card as everything else can be bought. Yes, it's an annoying start to a trip but it's not the end of the world.0

If there had been a question in the OP then it might have been justified starting a thread about something that happens every day of the year. But as there wasn't it should either have been posted in Praise & Vents or not at all.0

I've only ever had 1 bag gone walk-about (in the days when I checked in bags)
It was delivered to my by SAS (the airline not the guys in balaclavas) 3 days late and I swear it had a suntan- so where it had been GOK.Turning left avoids some of the idiots (only some)0
