Just because an aircraft is small and or foreign operated doesn't necessarily make it unsafe.

A few years back I flew out of Cardiff on a domestic flight which is subsidised by the Welsh Government. At the time the airline was a Scottish outfit using a 19 seater aircraft. However on the day their aircraft was tech, so they subbed in a different 19 seater operated by an airline based on the Isle of Man. The aircraft itself was Spanish registered and the crew Spanish. Mostly uneventful the flight was.

A few weeks later the exact aircraft crashed in Ireland whilst operating for the Isle of Man based outfit resulting in a number of fatalities. Many questions were raised in the subsequent investigation. Focused my mind to pay a little more attention in future as to what I get on.
