Experian is confusing debts which have been sold to debt collectors (never happens with fake parking fines) with debts which are merely being chased by them for a commission. Either you didn't explain the situation properly to them or they didn't listen.
CAB always talks bollox about fake parking fines, ignore them.
Dozens of people every day come here about debt collectors chasing fake parking fines, not one of them has ever had their credit rating harmed - but if you are not going to believe a word we tell you why bother coming here?Je suis Charlie.0 -
Ok thank you for your comment, my gut is telling me it won't but obviously there is that niggling worry this unjust parking charge is threatening my future! And when supposed specialist organisations such as MA who are meant to give you expert advice are telling you otherwise it is rather worrying! Have they got an arrangement with these parking companies or something! Lol0

UKPC have said it will be passed on debt recovery in 24hours.
So what? As already said they are toothless and can do nothing except keep sending out threatograms. Are you phobic about the sight of red ink? Don't fall for the scare tactics
So stuck what risk to take. Risk black marking my credit at experian said they would put a default payment on
That is rubbish - all you have received is a speculative invoice from the parking company.
You have not signed a credit agreement with them that you have defaulted on - therefore they cannot affect your credit rating.
They are claiming you owe them money - you claim you don't and there is no debt unless a court ruled that yes you do owe the parking company money.what citizens advice said to pay up and try to reclaim the money by taking them to court??
That, if true, is appalling advice from the Citizens advice bureau.0 -

You have an invoice which you deny liability. In order to prove the debt, the debtor has to take you to court and win.
This hasn't happened.
You are in the clear till you get court papers, then come back here.0 -
Hi, just to confirm the only way a parking charge could damage your credit report would be if the matter is taken to court and a county court judgment is issued.
The judgment would then appear on your report, but if it is paid within one month of being issued it can be Set Aside and would then be removed.
A late payment or default couldn't be recorded on a credit report as the result of a parking charge as there is no credit agreement.
The Telegraph recently posted a good article regarding parking charges here

Thank you. Very helpful. Just another query, do you think UKPC will be in touch again or do they leave all correspondence with the debt collector now? They made one attempt following my first appeal to settle the debt with a much smaller fee as 'good will' . I'm wondering if they'll try this tactic again. And Do I need to inform them I will not be paying again after it goes to debt collector?0

Thank you for you helpful comment - reinforcing something we have been explaining to the posters here for many years.
Just to refine your explanation, paying a judgment within 28 days prevents it from being registered. Obtaining a set aside is a separate process whereby a debtor who only becomes aware of proceedings (and subsequent judgment) some time after it has been entered may apply to the court for the judgment to be "set aside". This inevitably results in the matter being reheard.
Perhaps, as a representative of the credit "industry" you might offer an explanation as to why so many of your industry colleagues chose to blatantly misrepresent the law in this regard? My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0
