I did it over the phone and I was an online customer. They try to offer you things to stay (be prepared for lots of this) and then they give in when they realise you just want your PAC. They post it out and it takes 3 -5 working days.

    do they charge for PAC?
  • "do they charge for PAC?"

Mobile companies aren't allowed to charge for PAC codes. They can however charge for phone unlock codes.

To answer the original question, yes and no

If you request a PAC and use it within 30 days, then no you dont need to write in. The contract will end once the port has completed.

If you request a PAC code and dont use it within 30 days, then yes you would need to write in to cancel, unless of course you requested another PAC after 30 days.

So in short, if you request a PAC and use it, you dont need to write in. This is the same for all networks i imagine. O2 took around 4-5 days to issue mine.

Erm, If I remember rightly, I was told that if after 30 days you haven't used the code you need do nothing it will just be invalid.
