My wife has a cash account with them, she also received the same letter which said that if ignored the account will be changed to a BANK ACOUNT and I think it was yesterday that her online shows it's a bank account now instead of cash card.
So it's 'Better' then? new account number or?? what about her debit card does it says 4659 or 4658?• HSBC (Main A/C)

I suppose its better than a Cash Card (Although Visa), She ordered a new contactless card at the branch today, same account details.Sorry idont know what number the cards begin, don't want to peek in her purse.So it's 'Better' then? new account number or?? what about her debit card does it says 4659 or 4658?

The 4658 and 4659 card doesn't make a difference I have the 4658 and it works offline on trains etc absolutely fine. Yes I used to have a cash account five years ago but I have long been converted into a bank account-== CREDIT BUILD IN PROCESS 30% COMPLETE ==-
