Need some advice about incorrect entries on credit report (Experian)

Hi,
I am a longtime lurker on these forums, but decided to sign up to seek some advice. I am trying to clean up my credit record following my (now discharged) bankruptcy.
I signed up for the Experian free trial to check my report and found a couple of things I wasn't expecting.
1: My old current account is still showing as default but should have been written off. The bank were advised at the time.
2: There is a loan showing as default under Marlin Financial Group. They look like they may be a company who purchases debts, is that right? I think I know what the loan is, and it also should have been written off in bankruptcy. The bank were advised at the time, but were useless when I was dealing with them. Any correspondence for this is presumably going to my old address - should I be giving them my current address to sort this out, or would that be a mistake?
3: Under financial associations, there is an entry linking me to my ex-husband under the company Club 24 Ltd dated 2007. I don't know who they are or why they have placed that entry; will that be removed when I file the disassociation form, or do I need to contact them separately to find out what the entry is for?
I was planning to send in a notice of disassociation to the credit companies to advise that I no longer have any financial links to my ex. I was also planning to write to the companies with the incorrect information and ask them to update it (I think I saw a template on these forums somewhere).
Does that sound like the correct course of action, and is there anything else I should do?
I don't know if you need this information, but I was declared bankrupt in August 2012 and automatically discharged in August 2013.
Thank you in advance to anyone who replies!
(Apologies if this should be under Bankruptcy, I posted here as I am now discharged)

Can help with some:
2. Marlin buy accounts. Give them your current address. Presumably defaults stay on the file even after bankruptcy, just the date should be no later than BR date.
3. File the disassociation with Experian. When sorted, do the same with Equifax and Call credit. Or do all 3 at the same time.:beer:0 -
1. going bankrupt doesnt allow a default to be removed. just has to be marked as satisfied as well I think.Still rolling rolling rolling......

For any debt that was included in your bankruptcy the default date should be no later than the date you were declared bankrupt. If they are then, and assuming they show as satisified / or partially satisfied that is fine, and it is correct that they will still show on your file for 6years from the default date.
If the default dates are later than the date of your bankruptcy then you need to write to get them amended - this post will help - Credit Reference File Clean Up Post Bankruptcy
If you haven't done already it is also worth getting copies of your files from equifax and callcredit(noddle), as it is not uncommon for data to be recorded differently across the various agencies post bankruptcy.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Hi Homecoming,
Congratulations on getting your bankruptcy discharged! Being discharged makes a good opportunity to look at improving your report.
When you check your report, make sure that the Bankruptcy entry has a discharge date on it. If it doesn’t contact us with confirmation of your discharge so we can get this updated.
Any accounts that were included in the bankruptcy should be marked as satisfied, if they are not you can either contact us and we can then contact the lender on your behalf, or contact the lenders directly. In both cases if you can provide a copy of your confirmation of discharge this will really help in getting the information updated.
Discharged bankruptcy orders and defaulted accounts stay on a report for six years from the date of the default /bankruptcy date, and then are removed automatically.
In regard to the financial associations, if you financially disassociate from your ex-husband, the association entry you don’t recognise will also be removed.
An association can be recorded as the result of an application, and does not necessarily mean an account was ever opened. However if you wanted to know why the Club 24 Ltd entry was recorded we can query it with the lender on your behalf.
You can be financially disassociated from another individual as long as you no longer share any joint financial connections such as an active joint account. You can complete a form online to do this here.
Kind regards

Sorry for the delay in responding; thank you all for your advice!
I have written to both the bank and Marlin and they have both agreed to amend my credit record to show the default as being no later than my bankruptcy date, and to mark the accounts as settled.
I have updated my details as advised, and will be filing the notices of disassociation ASAP.
As a bonus, the bank also sent me a £50 cheque as compensation for the error, which is great! :T Thank you all again for your help with this, I was getting myself very confused!
ETA: Just realised that they have spelled my name wrong on the cheque (they've added an 's' on the end of my surname that shouldn't be there). Grr...hopefully they will still let me pay it into my account with that same bank...:coffee: Don't dream it, be it :coffee:0 -

I doubt anyone, or rather any machine will notice:beer:0 -

...and you were correct! Cheque went through fine, so a good outcome there!
I think I have most of the issues resolved now (will need to order some £2 credit reports to double check that people have taken off / amended what they were supposed to).
I filed the notice of disassociation with Experian and Equifax, and they seem fine. Unfortunately, Call Credit are saying they can't put it through as they are still receiving information from my old bank (the one with the written off mortgage and loans) saying that I still have a joint account with my ex...I presume I just need to speak to the bank to ask them to send through updated information for that though?
Thanks again to all who have replied. Thanks to your help, I actually feel like I'm getting somewhere!:coffee: Don't dream it, be it :coffee:0 -
Yes, you will need to talk to the bank as they are reporting the info. If you don't get anywhere, put a complaint to the bank in writing.:beer:0
