Were you invited to the hearing.

They certainly seem to have had advance notice of it, and replied to accept liability.
Is the guarantee ongoing? There is a danger that if the tenant continues with his tenancy not paying any rent, your laiblity continues forever.
The brother was evicted in Feb.

However, the OP and his missus do appear to have guaranteed another tenancy for him...

I have scanned all the documents in how can I upload onto her?

My wife is heavily pregnant and the local council advised my wife to accept partial liability. Her head was all over the place and she was unsure what to do as I was travelling.

receipt of first letter from the court was on the 2nd July 2014.

Before we replied my Wife already had the CCJ due to the land lord telling the court he has had contact from us when we haven't spoken to the land lord since April 2014

I didn't agree to being a guarantor in the first place but after 3 years you would not expect this (Or I wouldn't)

Documents need to go up on Flickr or similar and then post the link here.

As a newbie, that is going to be a problem so you need to do something like

    flicker dot 1234567.dot

Make sure you remove names and other contract details.

I am sorry but this part is still making little sense.

    Was there a hearing?

Why did you not defend yourself in that hearing?

Lets just say people who have dealt with this land lord end up in the xxxx the only advice my wife had was from the local council saying if we could get something on him that would be great but unfortunately you won't get away from this and you may as well accept liability!!

If somebody agrees to guarantee a tenancy, that guarantee stays in place until the end of the tenancy.
