After a Great Contract for 200 to 300 minutes Talktime

I’m after a good deal on a contact phone. Currently with Vodafone on pay as you go. Previously tried T Mobile and Orange and found reception very poor in my area. Temped to go for O2 but concerned that I would be stuck with a contract if I find the reception poor. I know that Vodafone is the better as I’ve been with them for over 18 months.
I’ve so far found that there are very few deals on Vodafone (unless I go with a Company doing cashback, but the problems I’ve heard with this puts me off).
I’ve rung Vodafone sales who tell me that the best offer that they can do at present is on any phone (not N95) is £12.50 for 6 months and £25 for 12 months (300 talk time/100 texts). I pressed them for a better deal put didn’t get anywhere.
Can anyone suggest a better way to get a great deal with Vodafone or is there any Company out there worth going with? Not too bothered with the latest type of phone.
