Can I use ethernet and USB broadband at same time?

I have a modem from TalkTalk and it has one ethernet socket and one USB socket on it.

If I ran an ethernet cable from it to one PC in one room and I also ran a USB cable from it to another PC in another room, would it be possible for both PCs to connect to the internet at the same time using this one modem?

Just wondered if this would work in case two people wanted to use the net at the same time.

Thanks!

I'll have to purchase a long ethernet cable and a long USB cable first of all to travel from the modem (which I could place in the hall at the main telephone socket) and then run each cable from here to each PC.

I'm not too sure what that is, but it's just the regular free modem which TalkTalk supply, so it's probably not one of those...

Zero, If you are talking about the Smartax mt882 (check the label on the bottom) then yes this is a router modem and you could run 2 PCs to the same internet conection, one by ethernet and one by usb.
You would have to insert your ID and password into the routers info pages (192.168.1.1 for ethernet and 192.168.1.2 for usb) and then submit and save the info.
You would also have to load the driver software for the usb PC but not for the ethernet one, or just let the talktalk CD do it for you.Hope this helps.

Yes, that's what it is. I just checked underneath it.

    Thanks very much for that!
