Genie Sims - 300 Texts - 07843 start number

Hi,

Does anybody know if its true about if you have a genie sim with this "start number 07843" you get free texts with no 10-00 top up????

Hi! Sorry to dissapoint but no its not true, not to my knowlegde anyway. I saw an ad on ebay for these type of sims and because of past experience i asked the seller if his advert of 'free texts without topping up' etc meant i had to put the cheat in to get it working but he said no. So i let my sister know to tell her friends etc in case they wanted any and told her about the mobile numbers starting with 07843. Well two of her friends already have those numbered sim cards and are having to pay for texts. They get their 300 free texts but then once the month is up or if they use the 300 free text before the month is up they get charged for them. I was rather dissapointed as i was hoping to use one myself. I have 3 of those type sims here now, new and sealed which were sent by o2 on one of their sim giveaways but will stick to old original o2 sim with the 300 free texts and wap. We all have these sims and sometimes we have got the cheat to work and my dads sim has been topped up once and has allowed him free texts ever since and that was over a year ago.

Yes i know there is. Ive seen all the wanted ads for the sims myself and am curious as to whats going on with them. Like i said, i heard about the free texts without topping up but its not working, unless you do have to do the cheat and the seller i questioned just didnt want to admit it. Im going to have a hunt about and see if i can find anything more about them. Will let you know if i find anything.

Someone said a while ago that the free texts included with these 07843 included texts sent to international numbers and thats why people wanted them. No idea if this is the case or not as I don't have one!

Looking on ebay it also says that if you have one of these Sims you can change your message centre number which allows you unlimited free texts. Again no idea whether this is true! It's certainly very strange this 07843 business!!!

Ok, so 'apparently' these Sims are international or something so you get the free international texts and also when you buy one the seller will give you an alternative message centre number to put in that allows free unlimited texts. No idea what it is though, all seems very top secret! apparently if too many people start using it o2 shut them down and you need to try a different one.

It's quite funny looking at the ebay auctions, they all seem to say something along the lines of 'THOSE OF YOU WITH EXPERIENCE WILL KNOW WHAT THIS NUMBER MEANS!!!'

I remember years ago people used to try international message centre numbers to try and get free texts, people would spend days going through lists and lists of them. Then they'd post it on a forum and within hours it would stop working!

You could probably change your message service centre on any sim if you chose to, but there is not much point; I have seen people complaining that the sim then stopped working, which is not very surprising really; you are not very likely to get your messages carried by a network that you are not a customer of. The international texts from the included ones seems to be more likely
