I wouldn't ask mum if she couldn't afford it.

I never buy things on credit I would panic in case I couldn't pay an instalment.

I never buy from catalogues , stores , online etc unless I know I can afford to buy.

I panic where money in concerned.

Tomorrow payday I will add all my outgoings for monthly bills from amount in bank then I know what is left for food shopping and my clothes treat from Sainsbury's next Tuesday when their 25% TU sale starts :T

Me too. I dont have credit of any sort except my car which is not really credit but a lease hire.
Thanks for reminding me about the 25% off Tu sale and am planning to go with Naebbirac for a splurge and a little extra discount.
Need to get in early this time as a few bits I want for next year. Plus childrens clothes of course.

just try explaining your eagerness in buying 20 bottles !!

Explain that there was a misunderstanding with the wife. She said "buy a bottle of handwash and if they have eggs buy 20." They had eggs.

Long shot I know, but is anyone from the Brighton / Hove area? My daughter has just moved there after 18 years in Portugal and is having difficulty finding rental properties that will accept dss. Does anyone know any landlords at all? Or what the local papers are down that way please? I am popping down from the midlands tomorrow to try to help her, even if we have to walk around looking in newsagents windows. Any tips gratefully received.

I am just a bit too far away but usually if agents say no dss if your dd has ßomeone who can stand as guarantor then they will ask the owner. Mostly no dss means they don't want payment in arrear which is how dss pay.
There are some agents that still refuse but I have never had any problems as my step dad is my guarantor.
Has your dd got a deposit as there are funds from councils to loan deposits as cheaper for them than council houses. Not a cheap area to be. She might have more luck along the coast a bit in Hastings. It is doubtful a private rent in brighton being any less than 3 times the housing benefit rate. Lots of student digs there.
    I hope you find somewhere.

    Morning all :)

Apparently DH misinterpreted my cryptic email to him at work yesterday and thought there was another little dipdap on the way. I didn't realise we were on different wave lengths until 7 o clock last night.
I'm still chuckling to myself about it now :rotfl:
