    Good evening,

Was just coming to report the Mr K 3 for £2, but it has already been discovered. :rotfl:

Sorry I have not been around for a good while, but I have been busy mystery shopping and job hunting.

Although I was unsuccessful with the North West Virgin job I went ahead anyway and applied for the South East (even though it said don't apply again). I managed to get through stage 1 and went to stage 2 at the end of June. Anyway I was placed on a waiting list. I had a call this morning and......

I have been offered a contract to start on September 3rd at the train station in London. :j :j

Onwards and upwards. I'll be glad to see the back of the mystery shop reports they were starting to become tedious.

I'll let you know how it goes I have got to pass the medical yet.

Don't know where I'm going to stay yet though. Anyone know any good hotels in London?

    Fantastic news :beer::T

    Hi Sunshine,

my freezer looks quite bare surprising how little £120 of meat is. Loads of room.
I just brought 6 from asda, when it says £1 and £1.50 it means one or the other right? not both?

because I have 5 £1 moc and 1 £1.50 moc no wins yet but will rinse and repeat.

    Both x

Yes exactly - seem to forget we are a few decades older than them. Also eldest child has always done a lot of walking so the extra walking she does now - to and from the train station and on and off tubes has come quite naturally and its part of her everyday lifestyle.
She has an ap on her iphone now that counts her steps. Saturday, they walked to their station and then met us at Euston before we started the London long march, so they did more walking than we did but even so at the end of Saturday her app said she had done 20 thousand steps

Sunday they walked us all over the city they now live in and then all around the park - so we must have done the same mileage- she did just under 10 thousand

As for the spending, we know how tight their finances are and how big their bills are and its just accepted that we pay for everything - its just one of those habits that is set in stone. Not dared to look at receipts yet but including our bed and breakfast and the cattery, meals etc I think we must have spent over £320  The only saving grace is that we have travel passes otherwise the total would have been much worse.

(normally I used groupon/livingsocial/Travelodge/premierinn and whatever other deals I can find etc and see if I can cram as much as possible into a couple of mid week days away for under £200 - ideally under £150.

Although it is loads of money, it is worth it.

When we visited our DS1… it nearly bankrupted us. We had a month in Thailand traveling and had to pay for 6 adults…. Hence the need to become Savy x

He is in Dubai now, OH said lets go and see him. My response was a meal is £100… we are going camping for the weekend instead!!

Thank you for all the kind wishes. I was initially told it would be months, but it came back a lot quicker. I have been for a lot of interviews, but did not bother posting about them because I thought it would be rather boring. So, I thought I'd post when I finally got the job. :rotfl:

I have just had a few celebratory bavaria, which ran out in May 2013.

I'm just looking for somewhere to stay now. It is looking like a hotel for the week and traveling home on the rest days to see the family. In a way I'm looking forward to it, but in others I'm dreading it. However, once I get settled I'll be fine. :)

The good thing is I'll be able to go to John Lewis every month for my free tea and cake and Waitrose for the free tea.
