    Evening all

Traumatised after watching Family Guy. RIP Brian:(

Dad not good. Could only cope with visits of 15 minutes at a time.
Came home feeling so sad and lost:(
Just typed a post and deleted again as too sad.

Very non mse question but has anyone ever used Wiltshire Food. Was wondering if it was bland enough for dad. We are having trouble with food as he mustn't risk cutting his mouth on food so has to be soft and easily digested.

Totally out of the glitching loop but nevermind. Going to start using train to Bedford as driving in summer is horrendous and still having problems with my ankles. Can have use of a car once in bedford so very thankful we have plenty of clubcard vouchers.

Qoc very well done on your run. Huge achievement. I was so proud of dd when she did 10k last month. At the moment I am feeling quite bitter that we should need to raise money for such important things but taxes don't cover enough care and research nowadays:(:(

Oh V :( so sorry to hear hug4.gif Must be really hard for you.
Don't feel bitter my love, it always bites when it's affecting you personally. It's just how things are. Thankfully there are many wonderful people out there willing to raise funds for all the causes that are close to our hearts

It's heartbreaking VT. Lots of us on here know how you are feeling.

    So so hard x

    I just feel helpless.
The whole thing was a huge shock to Dad. We have been told to encourage him to do as much as he can for himself as long as he can
The change in the last week is huge. I know he feels terrible and I understand he really doesn't want visitors for long. If its for 15 minutes at a time then fine.
My sister and I are doing exactly what he asks of us.
But we are having to tell relatives not to visit and his eldest sister is not happy about this. We have been told by him he will phone people when he wants to. We know he rarely picks up home phone.

I respect my dads wishes even if that means I feel pushed out but this is about him not me.
Hospital again tuesday for a platelet check.

The good thing is that he eats everything put infront of him.

He was offered twice daily injections but at a hospital hour and half away.
Apparently injections are better tolerated and he would benefit if he could have them locally (basically not feel as nauseous). Due to distance of hospital he couldnt tolerate 3 hours car journey and 8 hour wait between injections.
I suppose I am just not understanding why he can't have someone in to inject him twice a day. They would do nothing to prolong his life but the quality would be greatly improved.

Yes I agree there are some amazing people out there who tirelessly help raise
money for causes close to their hearts I admire and thank them from the bottom of my heart.

They said on news yesterday that in 20 years they hoped chemo will be replaced by something far better.

I just want to care for him but he will not allow this.
    I respect his choices.

OH V :( I logged back in to answer because I know exactly how you are feeling :(
I wasn't able to care for my dad at home at the end despite his wishes and my best efforts.....and it killed me:( still does! He was well looked after however and treated with the utmost respect for which I'm truly grateful for.
It's a truly horrible time that many of us here have endured. You will get lots of support from those who understand :(. I honestly feel your pain my love and know how heartbreaking it is. EEE you've brought tears to my eyes! I'm thinking of you :A

Just wanted to echo what FC said, as she says it so much better that I can.
Lots of people have gone through what you are going through now, and we are all here to listen when you want us.
Thoughts are with you my dear.
