Would they ? From the service Iv had, the sellers would not have had any "trouble" at all, because the tracking (incorectly) showed "left in porch" etc etc so Im the one who would have lost money if they did not show up days after the tracking said they did.

It's also not the seller who has to go looking through other peoples bins, sheds etc looking for the item.

So no, no "trouble" for the sellers at all  of course there was those pesky low p&p stars ebay used, but that was all down to stamp watchers wasnt it ? or could some of it be due to bad courier/postal experiences as well ? who knows, but if I had been running an ebay business, I would of been giving the buyers options, because they know which couriers/postal services work to them, not me .:)

I use My Hermes and give buyers the option of paying a little extra to have it sent Royal Mail. Out of 200 or so transactions, not one single person has chosen to pay extra for Royal Mail. Also not one of them has got lost by My Hermes. The only problem I have ever had is with someone who refused to ask their neighbour for the parcel which was left with them.

You could try a vacuum bag and it might go as a large letter?

Or go to parcel2go and use the code TVFREE to get £10 off postage.

I've only ever received from Hermes without a problem, so make no comment on their service other than that. Buyers generally have little to no experience of any couriers and wouldn't know the difference between FedEx, Parcelforce, Yodel or Hermes, given a choice they will almost always go for the cheaper option unless it's a faster service.
Shocking fact for everyone, all couriers deliver the vast majority (usually over 95%) of items in one piece and on time, that even includes Royal Mail. If you read these boards you'd think they never made it past 50%. I'd personally steer clear of Yodel and sending with Interlink but others will have had better experiences with them and use them all the time.
I probably run at less than one in a thousand lost by Royal Mail, I've seen other sellers say that RM lose 10% of their parcels.

As for OP, check again the RM dimensions again, failing that use Collect Plus.

Am I going mad or misreading the sizes (both of which is possible as I am tired and hot) but those dimensions fit in the small parcel rate ?

    Roughly in inches a small parcel can be 13 x 9 x 6.

Do double check though using the latest size changes where small parcel sizes were increased- I really can't rely on my memory at the moment.
Yes, I also thought the dimensions would be fine as a small parcel. The size can be up to 35x25x16cm. The only dimension you are close to is 16cm which is about 6.4 inches. Providing this gives enough space for packaging I would definitely choose Royal Mail over the other options suggested.

No! you are not going mad soolin - I am.

You are right. It will fit into the RM small box. I bought some cheap boxes from £1 shop and I thought they were the RM sizes but they are smaller.

    Thanks everyone!
