i've found downloading statements useful.
I tried 3 months though still had to manually assign quite a few transactions.
Once that was complete it's unbelievable how much my tenner atm transactions were per month.
Though my essentials were easily assigned manually:cool:Replenished CRA Reports.2020 Nissan Leaf 128-149 miles top charge. Savings depleted. VM Stream tv M250 Volted to M350 then M500 since returned to 1gb0 -
Hi everyone.
I've just discovered YNAB online, which is a-mazing! Gives me a really clear plan of my commitments for July (I get paid 25th of each month)
My question is this - I'm using the month trial period at the moment, but how many of you pay for ongoing use? It's $60 on the website and I'm not sure whether the benefits outweigh the cost
I'd be grateful for your thoughts

I bought it from http://store.steampowered.com/. It's the same version but cheaper through this website. I've been using it for a few months and think it's great.
Alternatively you can try attending some of the YNAB live webinars as they give a copy away at each session. I tried for a while but never won! Think they have around 100 people attending each session.0 -
Great, thank you AliceBannedXmas 2016 #67 £0/£365

I've had a refund for a faulty item I bought so can anyone help me with how to enter this please?
Thanks0 -
add it as income, with the category where the original payment came out...
I do this when I pay for something with paypal, then when I sell stuff and paypal pays me back I add it as income then put paypal as the category then the next payment out of that category is reduced by the amount of the refund..I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Banking & Borrowing, and Reduce Debt & Boost Income boards. Thanks Westie but this won't work. I've done a fresh start so the credit card balance that I will pay off at the month end is pre-ynab debt now0 -

add it as income to whatever category seems appropriate. Treat it as a windfall and assign it to your buffer. I actually do have a category called "holding/unallocated" which I have over £8000 sitting in at the moment. This is because I had a major windfall when I left my old job at the end of last month, but I still have not received pay yet from this job. I am planing to pay off my debts so eventually it will get allocated to my debt category, but I'm cautious, I don't want to do that until I am absolutely certain of income for next month. Therefore, I just wanted to put that money somewhere for now, thus the holding category. You can do the same. It doesn't matter where you put it, as long as it is not floating and used indiscriminately.Debt Free! Long road, but we did it
