I sold some things on ebay. If you are fair with the price, there will be somebody who will buy your items. Get GOOD quality photos, proper measurements, paypal or cash upon delivery payment (paypal will charge you transaction fee) and also ask for the stuff to be collected in person - otherwise it's a headache to try and arrange a courier (usually they charge minimum £50 and not every buyer would be happy to pay it). In case you worry that the buyer won't turn up or refuse to collect the item after the end of auction, you are protected by ebay/paypal as any conclude sale is equal to agreement that the buyer MUST pay or ebay will flag him/her in the future.

I;ve sold a lot of large items on ebay, always ask for payment on collection, don't accept Paypal.

I'm the same; flogged 2 sofas about 7 years ago and asked for cash on collection (I think I delivered for free, as it was 2 miles down the road), paid by cash when purchasing the dining set from a trader about a month later, as it needed to be personally collected (I wasn't paying £100 for a 30 mile delivery, when I had at the time a Ford S-Max)

If it's local I'll ask to pay cash and collect, rather than pay postage, which 99% of the time is fine for the seller.

Just remember that if you can't prove delivery, you have to cough up through Paypal.
