Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading - Access to A&E

Last Thursday I twisted my knee and was unable to put any weight on it. I persuaded my GP to make a house call and he diagnosed cartilage injury and told me to visit the A&E Department.
To this end I telephoned A&E to enquire about vehicle access and wheelchair availability. I was told to drive up to the entrance where a wheelchair would be available.
The next morning a relative drove me to the hospital, there was a sign marked "A&E drop off" pointing towards a pedestrian area some twenty yards from the entrance, so my relative drove straight on. We saw the entrance, but access to it was barred by a no entry sign. The next right turn was blocked by two ambulances parked side by side, I therefore hobbled out and an ambulance man got a wheel chair and wheeled me to the reception.
My relative then had to enter a restricted area to turn round.
The area was signed with the usual threats by a PPC and I may well have a PCN drop through the letter box shortly. If so, the Trust had better purchase a very large fan as a lot of !!!! we be going their way.

You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

I would have thought you'd be a Nuffield/Spire man, not mixing with the riff-raff at a NHS A&E, TD! :rotfl:
Although I guess Royal Berkshire does have a certain ring to it.
Hope the knee gets better soon, you won't want to be walking up and down the Levante or Poniente wearing one of those ugly braces! Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

agreed
sorry to hear about your troubles, its a bugbear of mine as I dont think any PPC should be allowed to infest a hospital car park and prey on the vulnerable and sick (we should have systems similar to wales and scotland imho)
glad to see the D Mail harping on about this in todays article, lets hope they keep it up all week as its getting good publicity, despite some of the incorrect details being given out0 -
As I keep telling people in another place, my home is NOWHERE NEAR BENIDORM.
The knee miraculously cured itself thank you, despite mutterings by the GP of CT scans, keyhole surgery, and plaster casts. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0
