I have been thinking of Toyota auric or seat leon but have become do used to vw and similar vag types I keep erring on Germany side so seat leon may be a good option.
    Our 1.9tdi is vw passat.
Think I will keep looking and see if and when I've had enough if polo what I feel like.

Cars I am looking at are Audi a3, i have written off BMW as are rear wheel drive and scares me driving in icy weather,

BMW have 4-wheel drive available on lots of models now. Their system is called 'xDrive' (the Audi one is called 'Quattro').
I have a look at new but just seem a waste of money and to be frank, nothing makes me think 'wow' enough to pay full whack.

If you are a good bargainer, it's often possible to get a brand new car for the price of a 1 year old one. If not, or you really just don't want the hassle, then take a look at online brokers who will do the leg work for you.

If you like the passat what about a 1.8 Octavia L&K loads of toys/luxury and when driven sensibly can turn an OK MPG but go.

A really good one will be well within budget even the DSG, chain cam as well so reduced servicing costs.

Sure I saw one on autotrader Monday, low mileage 2010 for £8k

Over the years I think less about what a car looks on the outside it is whats inside that matters as that is where you spend your time.

    thats where the value is

great inside ugly duckiling outside no one wants == GREAT value for money second hand
