Travelling into London by car

Thanks Matt, apologies if I wasn't clear, I'm wanting to park somewhere on the outskirts and get the tube into central London (I have just noticed my thread title may be misleading).0
-
Sorry I should've read the rest of the thread.
I do the same. I don't mind driving in London but it's less stressful and just as quick to get the tube.
Having driven from the north into London a few times, I normally opt for one of the stations at the end of the lines. E.g. Cockfosters at the end of the Piccadilly Line (£5.20 all day parking on a Monday), or Epping at the end of the Central Line (£6.00 all day parking on a Monday).
If you went to Cockfosters, the Piccadilly Line will take you to Hyde Park Corner, which is about a less than five minute walk to Marble Arch.
If you went to Epping, the Central Line will take you directly to Marble Arch. What will your verse be?

Lots of advice being posted but most are just guessing because we need to knowI'm travelling to London from the north
without the info, its a guess.0 -
Thanks guys.
wallbash - could be A1 or M1, probably not looking to do M25.
Now that I've changed it to Sunday, the train times are more appealing so may go with that.0 -

If you go to Epping in Essex you can avoid driving in London altogether, it's only £1.40 to park all day on Sunday and it'll take you directly to Marble Arch without you having to change tubes. What will your verse be?

Have you traveled ( by car ) far, would you consider catching the train even further out ........ as far out as Luton?

I've done Harrow on the Hill, £1.50 all day parking Sunday & about 30 mins into Central London.0 -
The Ruislip stations should be fine on a Sunday, but there's probably also free on-street parking nearby at weekends anyway.0
-
West Ruislip has the biggest car park - but doesn't make much sense if you are coming down the M1.
Either come down the M40, if appropriate, or just park at Stanmore, get the Jubilee line in to Baker St , change to Bakerloo line to Oxford Circus and its a 5 min walk to Bond St.
Or, on a Sunday, driving into London isn't too scary - you could do that and just pay for parking if required (some will be free)0 -
Use the Jubilee line, get off at Green Park instead of Bond St. 5 mins walk north. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
