Internet Banking: Protect against key loggers
Comments
-
Safe as far as I know from keyloggers (I haven't seen a keylogger which can log this method yet anyway), but still possible for people to put trojans onto your PC which record/stream everything you can see on the screen (so everytime you copy a letter, they can see which you've copied and pasted)... This method isn't widely used though, so I wouldn't worry too much about this though... AntiViruses and Firewalls are there to take care of the trojans and keyloggers (although we all know no Antivirus is 100% effective)I then just copy and paste relevant portions of the long word corresponding to the password I require.
Is this a secure method or still open to detection by the method suggested by skiddy2k?
I normally use the copy and paste method (especially if I'm using someone else's PC) and advise people to do this, although it takes slightly longer to do. Also, the majority of the time, people donot have keyloggers on their PCs and I know very few people who have had their usernames/paswords stolen from their PCs, so many people donot bother with this (neither do I sometimes!)0 -
I recommend Roboform for passwords and logins - I've been using it for years and never had a problem yet.
