Some are, yes. Many are just complete rubbish, even dangerous.

I think understanding their tips on stuff such as fuel injection cutoff, grill-blocking in the winter, understanding how cruise control works are absolutely vital to economical driving.

I would love to get myself a fast car again, but driving nearly 80 miles a day would soon turn not very funny, especially when it costs me just a few pounds right now. 5 litres of veg oil gets me to work and back + a little bit left over.
  • V8's should be mandatory :D

Injection cutoff? Yes, a piece of basic knowledge that helps.
Grill-blocking? Based entirely on mix of 60yr+ old information and a misunderstanding of how modern cooling systems work.
Cruise? Irrelevant-to-dangerous in UK traffic conditions.

Nope. Proven results in the winter, especially in a car like mine which takes a long time to heat up. :)

Not a mod just as Halfords car mats are not a mod, Parrot bluetooth is not a mod and a different stereo is not a mod.

Get your failed thermostat replaced, then.

Nothing wrong with my thermostat Adrian. Replaced it once already. Cheers anyway.

Was hoping that at least v10's became mandatory to give me the excuse to upgrade
