Is this possible?

Options
Hi all,
I don't even know if this is remotely possible. I renewed my mobile contract with O2 in January 2014. New phone and a 24 month contract. I have since changed jobs and now work in an area that o2 doesn't cover and the majority of the time don't get signal.
My partners mobile phone contract is coming to an end (he's also on o2) and he wants to get the galaxy note 3 like I have. I do like my phone, but would rather switch back to an iPhone. So I was wondering, if I were to take out a new contract with orange and get a iPhone 5s would I be able to transfer my number to orange mid contract and my partner cancel his current o2 contract that's rolling over each month to the one in my name so we can keep our own numbers and I'll get the signal that I crave so much at work? It's so frustrating when I want to make a call and can't! Apologies if that doesn't make sense!

Can't answer the question but to help with your network issues have you considered downloading the TuGo app? It allows you to make and receive calls using WiFi?

    Details here: http://www.o2.co.uk/apps/tu-go
    Waddle you do eh?

Your partner can take your contract over - if he passes the credit check with O2.

No, you can't port your O2 number to Orange without terminating the old contract with O2.

If you've got a spare phone maybe get a pay-as-you go SIM from Three / Orange / T-mobile (suggestions of networks which might cover your new workplace if O2 don't) and use it at work in the interim? Three's call charges are 3p per minute, so not the end of the world.

    If you've got a spare phone ...
A spare phone costs just 99p at CPW, although you have to buy £20 topup and this doesn't include '3' topups.

Mobiles .co.uk and e2save/osps have phones for £5+£10
