How do I switch from sky to EE? Do I need a MAC code?

Currently have sky broadband and phone (no TV). At the end of August I will have been with sky for 12 months and the price will increase as I got it half price for the first 12 months.

Considering switching to EE. Can someone explain the process. Can I just order from the EE site or do I need to speak to Sky to cancel and obtain a MAC code?

Tried searching but finding conflicting answers.

Yes, call Sky and ask for your MAC. You will be put through to retentions and doubtless you will then be offered a further deal to stay.

If you have BB and phone you are probably on sky LLU in which case you wouldnt need a MAC. You need to check with SKY.

When I called Sky about 3 weeks ago, for MAC, they repeatedly said there is no need for MAC to switchover to EE. However I haven't switched from Sky, after reading the EE experiences !
