I'm missing this challenge so have re-started it!
Hello everyone. Welcome to the Weekly Spend Challenge. This challenge is open to anybody, no matter what financial place they are in. Everyone is welcome here.
On this thread please post an amount of money you wish to stay below within the week (Sunday to end of working day on Friday). This can be pennies or thousands it depends on the individual. Then next Saturday report back and pledge for the following week. The challenge runs from Sunday to Friday so we don't include Saturdays but feel free to change the rules to suit you and include Saturdays or start on a different day.
Feel free to update this thread with daily spends if that keeps you on track. We colour code the results as below:
Green - within budget
Red - over budget
Purple - zero spend
Orange - made money over the week
This is a little bit of fun but for many it highlights the fact that maybe that magazine/chocolate bar isn't needed. Hopefully your spending habits can be changed forever.
Moozie was the founder of this challenge and here is a quote taken from her:

So I'll start.
I have £25 to last the week. I have my eye on one or two things on Amaz0n, so want to keep as much of this to hand so that I can make my planned purchasesPAYDBX 2019 - #166 - £395 / £5,6830 -
This is a great idea!! This is the exact thing we all need to curb our enthusiasm on and hence what brings us to this forum (my husband and I)!!
Being new to this forum and in serious budgeting need, this past week is the start for us going forward BUT not got a clue where to start really or if we have anything left over at the end of the week!
The CAB have advised us to do this very thing so any ideas for us (family of 4)?

My challenge this week? £5.
Yes, only £5! I intend on spending virtually nothing on myself this week, as we have to stick to our budgets and mine has been slightly over for most of the month and payday isn't until Thursday!Original Total: £34200.78 / Current Total: £24017.00 (July 2017) -29.88%!

Hi ya, I'll join this if I may! I always set a rough budget each week for my non-essential spending and almost always go over it!
Since Saturday is not included (and I didn't spend anything yesterday) I think I can go in quite low here.
I'll go for £10. That covers a beer or two after work on Friday if I get lured out by my workmates....and if I don't go out at all Friday then I should be under budgetStarting 2016 debt-free

Hello everyone who's joined in :wave:great to have you! I've updated the first post with names & pledges
.
I knew today was going to be a high spend day, but hopefully the rest of the week will be a lot less.
My spends are:
Toiletries - £6.35
Crisps - 80p
Total - £7.15
Remaining = £17.85
(I also used £1.97 of B00ts points, but that doesn't count cos it was free!)

Good luck with your £5 & £10 budgets Meatloaf and Aphidgirl!
Saver-upper, sorry to 'lose' you! Have you got your budget sorted?
Welcome Foolsgold01 - just declare your 'incidentals' budget for the week and then update regularly here!PAYDBX 2019 - #166 - £395 / £5,6830 -
So your toiletries can't be classed as essential then beach holiday?
I had to spend £4 on postage today (ebay sale) but I'm not counting that as I had to do it!Starting 2016 debt-free
Emergency Fund: £350/£10000 -
Right,here we go :j.
Now,it is school holidays at the moment, and I have 4 children at home to entertain.Over the last few days I have been looking very carefully at my spending over the last 12 months, and am seeing where I waste alot of money,so that is good.
My aim for the next 4 days is to spend no more than £20 on incidentals.
Lets see how that goes.:cool:SPC #36 :staradminx 8.SPC7=£751.10 SPC8=£651.04 SPC9=£843.00 SPC10=£872.76

Good luck Saver-upper, I've added you to the first post
Aphidgirl - I guess they could, but they are things for me, kind of nicer than the bog-standards I buy for the house! It also included a hairbrush because I left my ol' faithful behind after a weekend away last weekPAYDBX 2019 - #166 - £395 / £5,6830
